Grandparents’ Day

Grandparents are the cherished legacy-builders, storytellers, and tradition-keepers in a family. Their love and care form the bedrock of familial bonds. To honour them, Ideal Indian School, celebrated Grandparents Day recently. Ms. Shirley De Sales, the Headmistress of the KG Section, extended a warm welcome to the parents and emphasized the significant role that grandparents play in everyone’s lives. The little tots of kindergarten came up with a scintillating dance performance to welcome the gathering. The performances by students left the spectators spellbound and thoroughly mesmerised. Grandparents enthusiastically participated in various programs organized for the occasion, including singing and games like Musical Corner and Passing the Parcel. Every grandparent received a heartfelt greeting card prepared by the students. The grandparents appreciated IIS for fostering intergenerational connections through these events.

IIS Students Excel in Poster Designing Contest

Humayd Manzoor, Zainab Ahmad, and Gauri D R of Ideal Indian School excelled in the Poster Design Competition organized by NORVA-Qatar, a socio-cultural organization in Qatar, on the occasion of World Environment Day. In the junior category, Humayd Manzoor and Zainab Ahmad secured the second and third prizes respectively while Gauri D R won the second prize in the senior category. IIS CELEBRATES LANGUAGE DAY

The Language Departments at Ideal Indian School came together to celebrate Language Day with great enthusiasm and festivity. Language Day serves as a reminder of the importance of our mother tongue and its cultural and linguistic significance. The day is designed to enhance students’ language skills and uncover their hidden linguistic talents. An array of exciting events and activities took place in the Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ Sections on this special occasion, promoting languages such as Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Arabic, French, Tamil, Kannada, and Marathi. Students showcased vibrant and entertaining traditional performances, including folk dances, skits, songs, and speeches. The event was graced by the presence of Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, Heads of Sections, and the Heads of various language departments. Addressing the gathering, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb emphasized the significance of mother tongue education as a crucial foundation in children’s language learning. He highlighted how it not only enhances their learning abilities but also fosters a deep connection with their culture and traditions, He also expressed concern about the vulnerability of regional languages in the era of globalization, where English has become our primary gateway to the modern world. Cultural Secretary of Boys Section Akshay welcomed the gathering and Ananditha Devi, Cultural Secretary of the Girls’ Section proposed the vote of thanks. Hishana Manoj, Leyashri, Irfan and Amhar anchored the programme.

IIS WINS ISLAMIC AWARENESS COMPETITION CHAMPIONSHIP

Ideal Indian School recently hosted the 7th Annual Interschool Uswa-E-Rasool Elocution and Recitation competition with profound reverence and solemnity. The competition featured two topics: “Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) compassion towards children” for juniors and “Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) message of unity and brotherhood” for seniors. Among the 15 participating schools in this grand event, Ideal Indian School emerged triumphant, securing the overall trophy for the 7th consecutive year. In the senior category, Aftab Ahmad (XII-C) and Khuzaima Kazmi (IX-F) from Ideal Indian School claimed the first position in Qur’an Recitation, while Farha Naaz (XII-F) earned the first position for Elocution. In the junior category, Anum Manzoor (VIII-J) secured the second position for Elocution. Remarkably, Ideal Indian School clinched the overall trophy in both Elocution and Qur’an Recitation, making it the crowning achievement of the event. Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb, Principal, IIS  extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students, teachers, and participants from other schools. He expressed gratitude towards the event’s convener, Mr. Azam Khan (V.P. Junior Section), and specifically acknowledged the HOD of Arabic, Dr. Ehtesham, and his team for their exceptional success. He also thanked all the heads of sections and conveyed the appreciation of IIS President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M P for the dedicated efforts of students and teachers that contributed to this grand success. The Elocution competition had distinguished judges, including Mr. Sajid Ahmad (Mechanical Engineer, presently working in Qatar Energy), Ms. Mishail Al-Malki (Senior Communication Specialist), and Dr. Muslehuddin (Islamic Thinker and scholar). The Qur’an Recitation competition was evaluated by Shaikh Tahir Ibraheem Ali Al-Ahdal (Imam & Khateeb in Awqaf), Qari Abdul Aziz (Imam & Khateeb), and Qari Mohammad Merajul Haq Nadwi (Imam & Khateeb). During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest, Ms. Mishail Al-Malki, conveyed the message of Islam to the audience and commended the students and the Arabic Department for their unwavering dedication and hard work.

IIS Starts the Gavel Club to Hone Oratory Skills

Ideal Indian School has taken a significant step forward in the realm of enhancing students’ public speaking skills, School Management has taken the initiative and registered the gavel Club for the students. It is one of the U.S. registered Gavel Clubs in Doha, Qatar which is a sister concern of Toastmasters International. 45 students enrolled their name for the club membership from classes 7 to 12. The members are particular in conducting programs such as Debates, Group Discussions, Table Topics, Prepared Speeches, etc. The stated aim of this club is to make the members gain confidence in public speaking and hence become eloquent speakers and confident leaders of tomorrow. The activities of the club are being coordinated by Asst. Headmaster of the Boys’ Section Mr. Sajid Shamim and the Head of the Department of English Ms. Lipsy Sabu. IIS EXCELS IN BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ideal Indian School’s boys’ and girls’ badminton teams took part in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Badminton Tournament, showcasing impressive performances throughout the event.In the boys’ category, both the Under-14 and Under-17 teams secured Bronze medals in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Badminton Tournament hosted by Doha Modern Indian School (DMIS). Additionally, the girls’ Under-14 team clinched a Bronze medal in the same tournament, which was organized by DPS Monarch International School.Representing Ideal Indian School in the Under-14 Boys’ Category were Muhammad Noman Sayeed (7B), Mohammad Yahiya Yakkoob (7C), and Muhammed Hazem (8C). In the Under-17 Boys’ Category, the representatives were Muhammad Aman Sayeed (9E), Tom Sanju (9B), and Tomy Fernando James (9F).For the Under-14 Girls’ Category, the participants from Ideal Indian School were Andriya Reetha Sojan (3F), Adlyn Mary Sojan (7I), and Palakshi Sharma (8G).Mr. Satender led the boys’ badminton teams, while Ms. Suman Panwar guided the girls’ team at Ideal Indian School. IIS LAUNCHES VOICE-OUT LITERARY CLUB

WITH A SHAKESPEARE DAY CELEBRATION The English Department of Ideal Indian School introduced the ‘Voice Out’ English Literary Club and commemorated Shakespeare Day with great enthusiasm. In a recently organised function, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the school principal, inaugurated the club’s activities, marking a significant milestone for the students. The Principal presented the badges to the office bearers of Voice Out 2023-2024. Fatima Rahees from class XI has been selected as the President, and Afreen Salma from class X is the Secretary from the Girls’ Section. Luqman Ameen from class XI has also been chosen as the President, while Stephin V. Samson from class IX serves as the Secretary from the Boys’ Section. In his speech, the Principal urged the students to actively engage in literary competitions, emphasizing the importance of showcasing their creative talents. He instilled a sense of confidence and inspiration, empowering them to embrace the transformative power of literature and make their mark in the realm of artistic It was followed by the presentation of spectacular cultural programs. Mohammed Ashaz from class 7 recited a poem, and Amna Hafiz from class XII delivered a motivational speech. The students of class XI from the Girls’ Section presented a dance on the importance of reading. Ms. Bindu Babu, coordinator of the English Literary Club for 2022-23, presented a brief report of the events conducted during the academic year 2022-23. The program was followed by a prize distribution ceremony where the students received certificates for various literary activities conducted during the academic year 2022-23. Ahmed Mohammed Faisal, the Head Boy, proposed the vote of thanks. The event included a celebration of Shakespeare Day, featuring an Inter-House Drama competition where students showcased their talent through famous plays like Julius Caesar, Macbeth, and As You Like It etc. The young artists impressed the audience with their articulation, memory skills, and acting abilities. Yellow House secured first place in the Boys’ Section, while Blue House secured second place. In the Girls’ Section, Blue House claimed first place, with Green House in second. Dafydd Reagan received the Best Actor award, while Hishana Manoj was honored as Best Actress. The event was judged by Ms. Shirley D’sales, Headmistress of the KG Section and Ms. Shyla Jose, Assistant Headmistress of the Junior Section. The Judges appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and also extended their gratitude to the teachers for motivating the students to take part in the contest.

IIS inaugurates “Dhwani,” the Music & Dance Club

IIS held a grand inauguration of “DHWANI” its Music & Dance Club, an exciting addition to our vibrant extracurricular program. The club aims to foster creativity, provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, promote a love for music and dance and cultivate individuals with a deep appreciation for the arts. The Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Ms. Bhavna Naik, a renowned Odissi dancer, was the esteemed Guest of Honor. Heads of Sections, Heads of Departments, Teachers and Members of the Club attended the function. The Chief Guest, along with the Guest of Honor and the Heads of Sections, inaugurated the club by unveiling its logo.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the Principal, emphasised the club’s mission to serve as a platform for students to delve into their artistic passions. By fostering creativity, teamwork, and self-expression, the club aims to empower students in their artistic pursuits.In her speech, Ms. Bhavna Naik stressed on the invaluable role of learning performing arts, emphasizing its ability to foster the holistic development of children by nurturing their physical and mental well-being.The Club’s office bearers were inducted to the occasion. Venika Anil, a student of Class 10, serves as the secretary of the Girls’ Section. Jeffery Solomon, also from Class 10, is the secretary of the Boys’ Section. Yeshwanth S Kumar, a student of Class 4, holds the position of secretary in the Junior Section. Ms. Malili Gopakumar is the President of the Club.The Music & Dance Club’s inaugural event featured a diverse range of performances by the students of the Girls’ Boys and Junior Sections, highlighting the immense talent and versatility of the participating students. The dancers captivated the crowd with their graceful movements and vibrant choreography, showcasing various dance styles, including semi-classical, contemporary, and traditional forms. WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS

IIS marked World Environment Day on June 5th with vibrant presentations and a variety of conservation awareness programs. The campus was abuzz with activities centered around the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Students had a wonderful opportunity to gain insights and firsthand experience of different aspects of our environment through the organised activities. Debates on whether “climate change is a natural phenomenon or man-made” engaged students from the Girls’ and Boys’ sections. Additionally, a quiz and PowerPoint presentation on the hazards of plastic pollution were conducted. Enthusiastic participation in the celebration extended to the Kindergarten and junior sections. In the KG section, students dressed up as Earth, trees, wild animals, sea animals, flowers, and more. Activity sheets based on the theme “Save Our Planet” were distributed for coloring. Students of the Junior Section wholeheartedly engaged in creating collages, making paper bags, and showcasing their creativity in the “Best Out of Waste” activity. The students also took charge of an awareness campaign aimed at spreading the message of reducing plastic pollution.

IIS ORGANISED INDUSTRIAL VISIT FOR THE STUDENTS

In line with our school’s commitment to practical learning, IIS organized an industrial visit to the Seashore Group at Al Khor Industrial Area for the students of Engineering Graphics. The students visited the Facilities- Mechanical, Galvanizing and Painting division of Seashore Engineering which provided an exceptional opportunity for students to observe firsthand manufacturing procedures in the real world and acquire valuable practical insights into the industry. The trip proved immensely advantageous for the students, enhancing their understanding and knowledge of the industrial sector while allowing them to explore a wide range of industrial processes. The officials of the Seashore group briefed the students about the overall operations of the Seashore Engineering Division, highlighting its role in the manufacturing sector and its contribution to the industry. They emphasized the importance of precision engineering, quality control, and adherence to safety standards in their daily operations. At the conclusion of the industrial visit, the students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Seashore Group for generously providing them with such a valuable opportunity to explore their facilities.
