March 23, 2025Garangao is a traditional festival celebrated in Gulf countries, particularly Qatar, on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival holds great significance, especially for children. Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Garangao in a traditional manner. Students from the Junior, Boys’, Girls’ Sections, and the Evening Shift dressed in colorful traditional attire and carried baskets and bags decorated with bright colors and patterns. March 11, 2025Ideal Indian School recently organised an educational tour for the students of the Evening Session to Msheireb Museums, aimed at enhancing their understanding of Qatar’s rich heritage, social transformation and cultural evolution through an immersive learning experience. Msheireb Museums consist of four heritage houses located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, showcasing Qatar’s history, culture and transformation from its early days to the present. A total of 36 students from Grade 8 participated in this educational tour. The students were warmly welcomed by the museum staff, who provided an overview of Msheireb Museums and their historical significance. The visit included guided tours of the four heritage houses—Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House and Radwani House—each offering unique insights into different aspects of Qatar’s past and present.
The tour began at Mohammed Bin Jassim House, where students explored the transformation of Msheireb from a traditional neighborhood into a model of sustainable urban development. They learned about Qatar’s vision for heritage conservation and modern city planning. At Bin Jelmood House, which highlights the history of slavery in the region and promotes awareness of human rights and social justice, students engaged in discussions on the importance of freedom, equality, and the impact of historical events on modern society. Next, students visited Company House, which narrates the story of Qatar’s oil industry and the workers who contributed to its development. Through interactive displays and archival materials, they gained a deeper appreciation for the struggles and achievements of the early workforce in shaping Qatar’s economy. The visit concluded at Radwani House, where students gained insights into traditional Qatari family life and social customs. They observed artifacts and exhibits showcasing the evolution of domestic life over the decades.

March 3, 2025The Junior Section of IIS observed Qatar National Environment Day under the theme, ‘Our Earth, Our Legacy,’ which resonated throughout the events organized to mark the occasion. A special assembly was led by the Headmaster, Section Coordinator, teachers, and students. Students from Classes I to IV participated in the assembly and mesmerised the audience with their thoughtful messages and song. A student of Class IV, Sheikh Ashraf, amazed everyone with her inspiring speech, while the tiny tots of Grade 2 presented an awareness program on the environment and climate change.
The assembly was hosted by Ms. Remya Ranjith. Headmaster Mr. Sajid Shamim delivered an insightful message on the significance of the day and emphasized the need for water management, waste management, and sustainable land use. March 2, 2025The Scouts and Guides of IIS organised the World Thinking Day Celebration recently, coinciding with the visit of esteemed delegates from the Qatar Scouts & Guides Association Ms. Muna Jumah Al-Mansouri (1st Scout Activities Expert) and Ms. Paramjeet Bhullar (Scouts & Guides Coordinator for Expatriate Schools)
The program commenced with a Guard of Honour led by Asst. Head Guide & Pilot Sahana Sherin and Scout Pilot Aadil Noushad, welcomed the dignitaries alongside Vice Principal (Boys Section) Mr. Azam Khan, Vice Principal (Girls Section) Dr. Nazima Bi, Headmistress (Girls Section) Ms. Khatija TC, Asst. Headmistress (Boys Section) Ms. Lipsy Sabu, and AHM Academic Affairs Mr. Anwar Sadath. Following this, Asst. Head Scout Chirag Udaykumar hoisted the Qatar National Flag, accompanied by the rendition of the Qatar National Anthem.
The formal function began with a prayer by Guide Farha Naaz, followed by a welcome address delivered by Guide Rawan Yasir. Guide Adalia Shalom then led the Scouts and Guides in reciting the Scout Oath. The event was eloquently hosted by Guide Nakshatra Vigneshwaran, and Guide Sara Tariq Parker delivered an insightful speech on the significance of World Thinking Day. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Guide Kalinga Sasrika.
The training program included six activity zones, where participants honed essential scouting skills such as First Aid, March Past, and Yell & Cheer. Meanwhile, the remaining stations offered engaging activities like Fun Games, Art & Craft, and Music, ensuring a balance of learning and enjoyment.
A total of 120 Scouts and Guides actively participated in the event, honing their skills while enjoying the spirit of camaraderie. March 2, 2025Students of Ideal Indian School recently visited Al Thuraya Planetarium at Katara on an educational trip organised by the Ideal Astronomy Club. Around 80 students from the Girls’, Boys’ and Evening Sessions participated in this exciting experience.
The highlight of the visit was the dome-cast show The Stars at the Sky Theatre. This visually stunning presentation took students on a mesmerising journey through the vastness of space, offering a closer look at celestial bodies such as stars, galaxies, constellations, nebulae, black holes, the Sun, the Moon and all the planets in the solar system. As the enormous dome screen projected breathtaking visuals, the students were captivated by the wonders of the cosmos, gaining valuable insights into the mysteries of the universe.
Following the show, the students explored the Museum of Astronomy, which featured models of rockets, space shuttles, space suits, and planets, further enriching their understanding of space exploration.

Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Heads of Sections Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, Mr. Sajid Shamim, Ms. Khatija TC and Ms. Jaseena Abdullah. The programme began with a prayer by Mohammed Fauzan from Class 6A. Tanm ay Gupta from Class 8 warmly welcomed the guests, students and teachers.

February 20, 2025Guides from Ideal Indian School recently participated in the Guides Training Camp organised by the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association at the Flower Each Spring Camp in Al Khor. Under the theme “Oasis Guides’ Camp 2025,” the camp was held to honor and celebrate the scouting movement initiated by Robert Baden-Powell. It aimed to enhance leadership, teamwork and essential scouting skills among young Guides.
A total of 130 Guides and 15 Leaders from 13 expatriate schools enthusiastically participated in various training sessions, which included Camp Essentials, Signals, Table and Cutlery Set-up, Knots and Rope Work and Team Building Activities. Ideal Indian School distinguished itself by winning the Overall Championship Trophy, reinforcing its excellence in scouting activities.

January 27, 2025The 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated at Ideal Indian School this morning with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P hoisted the national flag in the school premises amidst the chanting of the national anthem by the School Choir. Principal Mr.Shaik Shamim Saheb, Heads of the Sections, Staff, Scouts and Guides, School Marching Band, parents and students joined the celebrations.
In his Republic Day message, President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P reminded the students of their vital role in contributing to the nation’s growth and progress and emphasised that each individual has a responsibility to work towards strengthening the fabric of the country through education, integrity, and service. He urged the students to take pride in the progress our nation has achieved and to reaffirm their dedication to building an India that flourishes by upholding the principles enshrined in its Constitution.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb highlighted the significant contributions and selfless sacrifices of national leaders throughout history, which have been crucial in shaping and strengthening the nation. He also added that the Constitution of India places great importance on fostering social justice, ensuring equality, and upholding fairness for all citizens.
The flag-hoisting ceremony commenced with a prayer by Zaid Khalid of Class 9. Through their speeches, students reasserted their dedication to their deep connection to their motherland and urged the youth to honour the country’s rich traditions while striving for its progress. Sara Tarik Parkar of Class 9 delivered her speech in Hindi, while AbduRehman Ismail of Class 9 eloquently expressed his thoughts in English. Adding to the patriotic fervor, students from the Boys’, Girls’, Junior and Evening sessions captivated the audience with a soul-stirring song that evoked feelings of national pride.

November 16, 2024The Kindergarten Section of Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Seasons Day. KG 1 and KG 2 students learned about the four seasons through fun activities and creative presentations. Children dressed as seasonal elements like snowmen, butterflies, flowers, the sun and umbrellas. A colorful parade in the KG section added excitement to the day.
KG 1 students made colorful leaf prints using leaves, cotton and bubble wrap and crafted umbrellas from paper plates. KG 2 students created snowmen, suns, butterflies and paper boats using paper plates and colored paper. November 9, 2024Ideal Indian School commemorated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with a series of meaningful activities and assemblies, aimed at instilling values of unity, respect and togetherness among students. The event honored the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, celebrating his role in unifying India and emphasising the importance of national integration. Special assemblies across all sections set the tone for the day.
In the Junior Section, students engaged in activities organised to illustrate the concept of unity in a creative and relatable manner. Younger students participated in a word search featuring values like respect and kindness, created “Unity Hand” art projects, and made cards expressing pride in their diverse nation. Class 4 students contributed to a “Unity Chain,” a visual representation of connection and strength, symbolizing that while people may be different, they are all united.
The Girls’ Section began with an inspiring assembly and a Unity Run for students in classes 5 to 8. Students dressed in traditional attire from various Indian states showcased the rich cultural diversity of the country. The Unity Run promoted fitness and symbolized teamwork, as students cheered each other on, fostering a sense of national pride and solidarity. This colorful display allowed students to connect with India’s cultural heritage and feel pride in their identities.
In the Boys’ Section, students wore costumes representing various states, highlighting the theme of national unity through diversity. Leonel from Class 10 B delivered a speech, followed by a unity pledge from Samardhita Sarkar of Class 9 B. Engaging activities included poster-making, calligraphy, and collage work, all reinforcing the significance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. October 15, 2024Ideal Indian School achieved remarkable success at the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship held in Uttarakhand, India, securing several prestigious titles.
In the U-19 category, Ammar Obaid Qazi won a silver medal, while Yedhu Krishna earned a bronze. In the U-17 category, Ahmed Hayan and Mithraj Vinod both claimed bronze medals. Additionally, Mohammed Hassan secured a silver medal in the U-14 category.

October 5, 2024Ideal Indian School marked WORLD PEACE DAY on 2nd October 2024 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and instill his values and principles among students. Various engaging activities in KG, Junior, Girls’ and Boys’ Sections to raise awareness about the importance of non-violence. Students in the Junior section took part in various activities, including coloring, poster making, and crafting miniature spinning wheels (Charkhas). To mark this special occasion, the Social Science Department of Ideal Indian School organized a range of activities to commemorate the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and to instill his values among the students. October 1, 2024Ideal Indian School observed World Heart Day on Sunday, 29th September 2024, with a variety of engaging activities to raise awareness about the importance of heart health and promote healthy living habits among students. To mark this special occasion, a series of educational activities were conducted. The day started with a speech during the morning assembly, highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle for heart health, followed by a pledge to keep our hearts healthy.
In the Junior Section, a special morning assembly was conducted, during which students expressed their views on the importance of keeping our hearts fit. A skit titled “The Heart Hero Adventure” was enacted by the students, demonstrating that eating junk food is unhealthy and emphasizing the importance of keeping our hearts strong. The skit also conveyed the idea that exercising helps keep us fit.
The Department of Science conducted various awareness programs. Students created posters, PowerPoint presentations, and handmade cards with messages about heart health awareness. These activities allowed students to express their creativity while learning about important heart-healthy habits such as balanced eating, staying active, and avoiding smoking. Students were encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions, making it an interactive and educational experience.
A dedicated workout and yoga session was organised by the sports department, in which students from all grades participated in activities such as aerobics, stretching, and yoga.
