The Kindergarten section of IIS celebrated Shapes Day on 30th April 2026 with great enthusiasm and creativity. The young learners came dressed in vibrant shape-themed costumes, representing squares, circles, rectangles, triangles, stars, hearts, diamonds, kites, ladders, boxes, and fun objects like pizzas and watermelons. Each child proudly carried a card displaying different shapes, adding to the visual delight of the celebration. KG1 students engaged in shape-based worksheets, expressing their creativity through colouring activities, while KG2 students showcased their skills through craft work, creating various shapes. Additionally, KG II pupils designed and wore headbands featuring assorted shapes as part of the festivities. The excitement and joy of the children were clearly visible through their active participation in dressing up and enthusiastically engaging in all the activities, making Shapes Day a fun-filled and meaningful learning experience.
IIS CELEBRATED SHAKESPEARE DAY
Shakespeare Day at Ideal Indian School was celebrated with great enthusiasm and literary spirit on 28 April 2026 at the KG Auditorium. The event honoured the legacy of William Shakespeare and aimed to deepen students’ appreciation of classical literature while nurturing their creativity and performance skills. The formal programme commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Sonakshi Harish of XI-H (Morning Session) and Khadeeja Rukshan of IX-G (Evening Session), both highlighted Shakespeare’s enduring influence on global literature and language. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Acting Principal, Mr. Mohammed Azam Khan, along with the Heads of Sections and Mr. Anwar Sadath, Head of the Department of English. During the event, badges were conferred upon the newly appointed office bearers of the English Literary Club-Voice Out 2026-2027. From the Boys’ Section, Shan Shoukath (XI A) and Haya Illyas ( XI B) were appointed as Secretary and Abhinav (IX A) and Hamdan Muzawar ( IX B ) were appointed as Joint Secretary for both Morning and Evening Session respectively. Representing the Girls’ Section, Sonakshi Harish (XI H) and by Jewairya Ather (X G ) were appointed as Secretary and Suhair Mohammadi (IX G) and Khadeeja Muhammed Rukshan ( IX G) were appointed as Joint Secretary for both Morning and Evening Session respectively. Mr. Asaf Ali and Ms. Premalatta Selwyn (Morning Session) and Ms. Akhitha and Ms. Sameera Ghouse (Evening Session) have been designated as the coordinators, tasked with guiding and overseeing the activities of the Club. In his presidential address, the Acting Principal, Mr. Mohammed Azam Khan, expressed his appreciation for the Department of English, under whose banner the programme was organized. The programme continued with a poem recitation by Elfi Firoze of VII F and a motivational speech by Akhil Senthil Kumar of XI A (for Morning Session) and Juwairya Ather of X G and Rajaeswari of XII A (for Evening Session). This was followed by the presentation of the Annual Report of the English Literary Club for the academic year 2025–2026, delivered by Rehana Begum, highlighting the club’s notable achievements. Shan Shoukath of XI B (Morning) and Farook PS of XII B (Evening) then proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration continued with the much-anticipated Inter-House Dramatic Monologue Competition, where talented performers brought iconic characters from Shakespeare’s plays to life. A total of 16 participants competed across the morning and evening sessions, with each house represented by two participants. In the Morning Session, Neeraj Geevandas Jogi (Blue) secured first place in the Boys’ Section, followed by Mohammed Shan Shoukath (Green) and Hujaifa Khan (Blue). In the Girls’ Section, Aashika Menon (Blue) secured first place, followed by Palakshi Sharma (Yellow) and Joyal Ishwani (Green). In the Evening Session, Thamanna Abram (Red) secured first place in the Boys’ Section, followed by Ajmal Roshan (Yellow) and Anishwar (Yellow). In the Girls’ Section, Khulood Bint Mohammed (Yellow) secured first place, followed by Anvia Lenin (Yellow) and Lujain Manha (Red). The formal programe was compered by Ms.Bindu Babu (Morning) and Ms.Darsana S.Dharan for Evening Session. The second half of the programme was hosted by Ahmed Jassim (XI A) and Juwairiya (XI H) for the Morning Session, and Saja Siraj (XII A) and Nivedita Binosh (XII A) for the Evening Session. The performances were judged by Ms. Jerrin Elsa Abraham and Ms. Aryalaxmi from the Junior Section for the morning session, and by Ms. Uma Maheswari and Ms. Swetha Suresh for the evening session. The overall event was meticulously coordinated by Mr.Shijo Joseph (Morning) and Mr. Ramkumar (Evening).
IIS SHINES AT GIRLS’ TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Ideal Indian School achieved a commendable milestone at the Girls’ Table Tennis Tournament held under the School Olympic Programme – Secondary Level for Public and Private Schools, as part of the 19th Edition (2025–26). The team delivered an outstanding performance in the tournament, in which the majority of schools from the private and public sectors competed, bringing great pride and recognition to the institution through their dedication, skill, and sportsmanship. In the Singles Category, Ruqaya Altaf (Class XI) won the Silver Medal, while Aiza Nijas (Class XI) claimed the Bronze Medal. In the Team Event, Ruqaya Altaf, Aiza Nijas, and Menhal Sajid (Class XI) secured the Bronze Medal. The players showcased excellent coordination, consistency, and team spirit throughout the tournament. Special appreciation is given to Ms. Suman Panwar, whose dedication and hard work in training the students played an important role in this achievement. The Acting Principal, Mr. Mohammad Azam Khan, and the Vice Principal, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, extended their warm congratulations to the winners and applauded their outstanding performance. The management expressed great pride in the team’s success and motivated them to aim for even greater accomplishments in future competitions.

In a spectacular ceremony held recently at the school, the Students’ Councils of the Boys’, Girls’, and Junior Sections of both the morning and evening sessions for the academic year 2026–27 were formally inducted. The oath was administered by the Acting Principal, Mohammed Azam Khan, who encouraged the students to lead with integrity, discipline, and dedication. Heads of Sections and Heads of Departments attended the ceremony. The new members were then presented with their badges and took an oath to uphold the values of the school, to be honest, responsible, and committed to serving the student body. IIS HONOURS SPOTLIGHT’25 WINNERS : In a recently organised Prize Distribution Ceremony, the Evening Session of Ideal Indian School honoured the winners of Spotlight 2025, the school’s cultural competitions. Students from the KG, Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ Sections participated enthusiastically in this talent recognition programme. The competitions were conducted across various categories, including KG, Kids, Sub-Junior, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior, and covered a wide range of activities such as performing arts, painting, vocal and instrumental music, classical and folk dances, singing, poem recitation, rangoli, public speaking, storytelling, humorous speech etc. Special events on Hifz, Tajweed, and Adhan were also held exclusively for Muslim students. IIS CELEBRATED WORLD FOOD DAY
The Ideal Indian School celebrated World Food Day with great enthusiasm. The event was organized with the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”, emphasizing global collaboration to promote food security, sustainable nutrition, and healthy eating habits. The Celebration was attended by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, Heads of Sections and Heads of Departments. Speaking on the occasion, Principal emphasized the importance of World Food Day, reminding everyone to value food, reduce waste, and support sustainability. He expressed hope for a future where everyone has access to nutritious food and a healthier planet. Students from the morning and evening sessions of KG, Junior, Boys’ and Girls’ Sections enthusiastically participated by preparing a wide variety of healthy and creative dishes. They presented their displays beautifully, accompanied by informative charts, posters, and decorations showcasing the nutritional value of the food items. Each group explained the health benefits, ingredients, and cultural significance of their chosen dishes.
IIS PARTICIPATED IN JOTA-JOTI-2025
The Scouts and Guides of Ideal Indian School enthusiastically participated in the ‘JOTA–JOTI 2025’ event organized by the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, held at the Qatar Amateur Radio Society on Saturday, 18th October 2025. JOTA–JOTI (Jamboree on the Air – Jamboree on the Internet) is a global youth program that enables and encourages Scouts from around the world to communicate and connect through amateur radio and the internet. The event provides a fun, interactive, and educational platform that promotes international friendship, cultural exchange, and digital learning among young Scouts. Representing Ideal Indian School, Scouts – Mohammed Aazim and Muzafar P. M. from the Boys’ Section, and Guides – Aysha Nahan and Hanna Eldho from the Girls’ Section attended the event. The students were accompanied and guided by Mr. Vijayant Thapa (Scout Master) and Ms. Suman Panwar (Guide Leader), who coordinated with the scout officials and ensured the smooth participation of the school contingent. The event offered the students a valuable learning experience, enhancing their understanding of global scouting and communication technologies, while fostering teamwork, leadership, and international camaraderie.
IIS IDEAL LITERATI HOSTS LITERARY COMPETITIONS
The Department of English of Ideal Indian School recently organized Ideal Literati 2025, an inter-school Humorous Speech and Advertisement Skit Competition. Inaugurated by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the event encouraged students to showcase their talents and highlighted the importance of literature as a source of inspiration. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from several Indian schools in Qatar, celebrating creativity and talent. The Humorous Speech Competition was filled with laughter and creativity as participants showcased their wit and comic timing. Each speaker impressed the audience with their confident delivery, engaging expressions, and clever punchlines. The performances reflected not only humor but also strong communication skills and stage presence, making the event both entertaining and memorable. Mohammed Aazim from Ideal Indian School bagged the first position, followed by Harsh Thobhani from DPS–Modern Indian School who secured the second place, while Mohammed Omar Khan from Noble International School claimed the third position. The Advertisement Skit Group Competition was a lively and entertaining event where creativity met marketing brilliance. Each 5-member team showcased their talent through humorous and thought-provoking performances, promoting their imaginary products with catchy taglines and clever acting. The participants impressed the audience with their confidence, coordination, and originality, making the event both engaging and memorable. DPS–Modern Indian School secured the first position, followed by Ideal Indian School in second place, and Loyola International School in third place. Both competitions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges comprising eminent members of Toastmasters International, Ms. Najla Azad and Ms. Shamya Sudhir Shetty, whose valuable feedback and expertise added great insight and credibility to the event. A valedictory function concluded the competitions, with judges appreciating participants’ creativity and stage presence while offering suggestions and receiving tokens of gratitude. The heads of sections awarded trophies and certificates, marking a memorable end to the Ideal Literati competitions. The event was coordinated under the leadership of Event Coordinator Ms. Rajula V. IIS Holds awareness session on “Her Health Hygiene”
As part of the No Bag Day activity, the Evening Session of Girls’ Section of Ideal Indian School organized a special awareness session for the students of Grades 5 and 6 on the topic “Her Health Hygiene.” The guest speaker for the day was Ms. Sheela Sharma, a professional trainer at Mind Map Pvt. Ltd. with 16 years of experience. The session was highly informative and engaging, focusing on menstrual hygiene, physical and emotional changes during adolescence, and personal care practices for growing girls. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Aysha Mehreen of Grade 6-F, followed by a warm welcome address. The session was compered by Ms. Sudha Priya, English Teacher. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Nazima Bi Sheikh , Vice Principal and Ms. Khatija T. C. ,Headmistress. Students participated enthusiastically in the interactive activities and showed keen interest in learning about the importance of health and hygiene. As a token of appreciation, a welcome bouquet was presented to the guest by the Headmistress, and a memento was handed over by the Vice Principal. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the end of an inspiring and educational afternoon aimed at empowering young girls with essential knowledge for their well-being.
IIS STUDNTS VISIT SAFA WATER TREATMENT & BOTTLING UNIT
An educational visit to the Safa Water Treatment and Bottling Unit was recently organized for the students of Grade 11 and 12 Engineering Graphics of Ideal Indian School. The visit aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to industrial processes and practical knowledge of water purification and bottling. The session began with an introduction by Mr. Laiju, a chemist at Safa Water, followed by a short video presentation highlighting the company’s milestones. Safa is a leading water treatment company in Qatar, operating for more than 20 years. It is the first company in the country to receive the Quality Mark Emblem and is certified under ISO 22000 standards. The company employs over 500 staff members, operates 200 trucks, and uses advanced hydraulic machinery. Students learned about the step-by-step process of treating water sourced from the Public Distribution System (PDS) of Kahramaa. At Safa, water undergoes a systematic process of purification and quality control—from sourcing and treatment to filtration and bottling—ensuring that the final product is clean, safe, and ready for distribution. They also interacted with the Marketing Manager and General Manager, gaining insights into the company’s production, quality control, and marketing strategies. The staff at Safa Water were welcoming and eager to answer students’ queries. This industrial visit provided an enriching learning experience, allowing students to connect classroom concepts with real-world industrial practices. The Engineering Graphics students expressed their sincere gratitude to Safa Water Treatment and Bottling Unit for the informative session and extended special thanks to the faculty and administration of Ideal Indian School for organizing this valuable educational trip.
