The Scouts and Guides of Ideal Indian School organised the “Safe From Harm – Awareness Campaign” with the objective of creating awareness among students about the positive and negative influence of social media on young minds and promoting safe and responsible online behaviour. The programme aimed to educate students on the importance of digital safety, respectful communication, cyber awareness, emotional well-being, and the responsible use of social media platforms.
The school was honoured to welcome Mr. Ahmed Khamis B. Al Yousuf, Scout Activities Consultant, and Ms. Paramjeet Bhullar, Coordinator for Expatriate Scouts, as the chief guests for the programme. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Mohammed Azam Khan, Acting Principal, whose encouragement and support added great significance to the occasion. Adding further grace to the event were Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, Vice Principal (Girls Section), Ms. Khatija T.C., Headmistress (Girls Section), Ms. Lipsy Sabu, Assistant Headmistress (Boys Section), and Mr. Anwar Sadath, Acting Assistant Headmaster (Boys Section).
The awareness programme focused on important issues such as cyberbullying, excessive screen time, online scams, privacy protection, fake information, the emotional impact of social media, and the importance of maintaining healthy digital habits. Through interactive sessions, role plays, presentations, posters, and activity stations conducted by Senior Scouts and Guides, students were guided on how to use social media wisely, safely, and responsibly.
The Scouts and Guides displayed excellent teamwork, communication skills, and social responsibility throughout the programme under the leadership of Aysha Nahan Asif (Head Guide), Mohammed Aazim (Head Scout), Bhavya Babu (Assistant Head Guide), and Ahmed Jassim M.J. (Assistant Head Scout). The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and proved to be highly informative and impactful. It successfully encouraged students to become responsible digital citizens and reinforced the values of safety, respect, kindness, discipline, and self-awareness in both online and offline environments.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Vijayant Thapa, Scout Master, Ms. Suman Panwar, Guides Incharge, and Mr. Saleem Bin Esa, Scouts Incharge, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth organisation and success of the programme. Their leadership, along with the support of the Scouts and Guides Unit and all participants, played a vital role in making the awareness campaign meaningful, educational, and successful.
