IIS OBSERVED NO TOBACCO DAY

Ideal Indian School observed No Tobacco Day, aligning with global efforts to highlight the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle. Various programs were organized in all sections to create awareness among students about the dangers of tobacco and its impact on health. In the junior section, a morning assembly featured a skit to raise awareness and Nabiha from class 4 delivered a speech. Students learned about passive smoking and ways to avoid it. Both the Boys’ and Girls’ Sections participated in various activities to mark the day. These activities included a video screening, an awareness campaign, drawing and poster-making competition, all designed to educate students about the dangers of tobacco consumption.

IIS HOLDS TEACHERS ORIENTATION

Ideal Indian School recently organised a teachers’ orientation program aimed at updating them on the latest educational developments and enhancing their understanding of effective pedagogy. The program began with an insightful session led by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, who discussed the critical topic of “Alignment of Vision and Mission with Curriculum.” This session emphasised the importance of ensuring that the school’s vision and mission are effectively integrated into the curriculum, thereby providing a cohesive educational experience for students. Following this, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaik, Vice Principal, Girls’ Section delivered an engaging presentation on the topic of psychological well-being in schools. Her talk highlighted the significance of mental health for both students and teachers, offering strategies to create a supportive and nurturing school environment. Mr. Sajid Shamim, Headmaster Junior Section coordinated the Teachers’ orientation programme.

IIS STUDENTS WIN BADMINTON TITLE

IIS students excelled in the recently held Bunts Qatar Badminton Tournament organized by the Bunts Qatar Group. Aman Sayeed of class X and Noman Sayeed of class VIII participated in the Under-16 category, won the tournament, and brought laurels to the school. In the Qatar Badminton Association Leg 2 tournament, Noman Sayeed of class VIII won the bronze medal in the Under-15 category organized by the Qatar Badminton Association. The Principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, congratulated the students on their achievement.

IIS HOSTS BOOK READING, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION WORKSHOP

Ideal Indian School conducted a workshop for students of Grades 4 and 5 on Book reading, Analysis and Presentation, Impromptu speaking abilities, Goal setting, Life Skill Building and Trivia. The resource person for the two-day workshop was Ms. Sushma Harish – Life Coach, Mentor and Author. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb and the Heads of the Boys, Girls, Junior and KG sections graced the session. Speaking on this occasion, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb emphasised the benefits of reading and its impact on the students. He also spoke about how reading books will help students to improve their vocabulary, communication and public speaking skills. He encouraged the young learners to develop the habit of reading books and widen their knowledge on various aspects of the world. Ms. Sushma Harish the spokesperson for the workshop is an ambassador for promoting holistic and comprehensive learning in children by organizing various workshops at different educational institutions and organisations. She strives to promote reading, public speaking skills, speech sessions and creative writing skills among students. During the workshop, Ms. Sushma Harish spoke to the students about the benefits of reading books. She focused on how to analyse a text and interpret the Title of the books, its genre and illustrations. Students were introduced to the books of different genres written by famous authors. Ms. Sushma mentioned how Blurb influences the readers and creates curiosity in them. Students were encouraged to come forward and speak on the given topics in front of the audience to boost their self-confidence. Engaging and fun-filled activities were conducted during the workshop. Interesting video clips focusing on the different qualities of a good reader also kept the young learners engaged. Ms. Sushma Harish made use of phrases from her debut book ‘Kismet’ to inspire the students. A quiz session was also conducted and Handcrafted bookmarks were given to the winning students. The two-day fruitful and engaging workshop helped the young enthusiasts and learners to enhance their vocabulary and develop an interest in them for reading. The program was compered by Ms. Sharon Soans, Ms. Nanthini and Ms. Sana Sayeed. Mr. Sajid Shamim, Headmaster, Junior Section coordinated the workshop.

IIS Boys Section Awards Best Class Room

IIS Boys Section Awarded Best Classroom to the classes selected from classes 5 to 8. Judgment was based on criteria such as the information provided on the bulletin board, the presentation of the same, cleanliness, and the maintenance of the whiteboard. Among the classes from grades 5 to 8, 7A was declared the winner. The class teacher of 7A, Ms. Mahalakshmi, along with the mentors – Hadi, Muzakkir, Rashdan, and Aahil – received the trophy from the Vice Principal Mr. Azam Khan.

IIS HONOURS MERITORIOUS STUDENTS

Ideal Indian School felicitated meritorious students who made it to the Principal’s Honors List by securing higher grades in the school’s final examinations during the academic year 2023-24. A special assembly was organized in the school recently to honor nearly 600 meritorious students from the Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ Sections. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb awarded medals and certificates to the students. On this occasion, the Principal extended congratulations to the students, applauding their hard work and perseverance, and offered wishes for their future success. Trophies were awarded to various houses that excelled in curricular and co-curricular activities. In the Junior Section, the Champion House of the Year award went to Blue House, headed by Ms. Sharon Metilda. In the Boys’ Section, Yellow House, headed by Ms. Shanooja, won the overall championship, while in the Girls’ Section, Green House, led by Ms. Nafisha Sultana, was declared the Champion House. These houses received championship trophies from the Principal. The heads of the Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ sections, along with house coordinators, housemistresses, housemasters and heads of departments, attended the function.

IIS KINDERGARTEN CELEBRATED SHAPES DAY

The KG section of IIS marked Shapes Day on recently. Kids donned various shape-themed costumes like pizza, watermelon, bottle, clock, scale, TV, and more, each carrying a card displaying different shapes. KG II pupils crafted headbands featuring assorted shapes as part of the festivities. The children’s enthusiasm was evident in their spirited participation in both dressing up and engaging in the activities.

IIS HOSTS GUIDES TRAINING CAMP TO FOSTER LEADERSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY

Ideal Indian School recently hosted a Guides Training Camp organised by the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association on the theme “Sustainability and World Thinking Day” to honor and celebrate the scouting movement initiated by Robert Baden Powell. Mr. Khalid Al-Hetmi , Scout Activities Consultant, Ms. Muna Jumah Al Mansouri, 1st Scout Activities Expert, Ms. Sara Al-Sultan, Scout Activities Consultant and Ms. Paramjeet Bhullar, Coordinator for Expatriate Schools were the Guests of Honor who graced the occasion. Principal of Ideal Indian School Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb, Vice-principal of the Girls’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, Headmistress Girls’ section Ms. Khatija TC and Headmaster Junior Section Mr. Sajid Shamim also attended the program. The ceremony commenced with a prayer by Saja and Hanan and Riti Milan Doshi extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The Qatar Flag Hoisting Ceremony was led by Head Guide of Ideal Indian School Akshaya Jayakosh, Swathi Gireesh Kumar and Crystal Jerustha. A total of 140 Guides and 20 Leaders from 10 expatriate schools participated in the training camp. Various training sessions such as Camp Essentials, Self-Defense, First Aid, Gadget Making, and Team Building were organized to train the Guides of different schools. Another session for Fire Safety was coordinated under the supervision of Ms. Sara Qabil Badshah (Civil Defense Officer) to enlighten the Guides regarding various fire safety techniques. To celebrate the birth anniversary of Baden Powell, various programs were conducted including a speech by Shreya Saravanan of Class XI and a group song by the Guides of IIS. The Guides of Philippine School Doha enthusiastically performed a dance as a part of the celebration. For the ‘Yell and Cheer’ competition, the Guides of Ideal Indian School and Philippine School Doha shared 1st place, MES Indian School got 2nd place, and 3rd place was awarded to The Next Generation School. In ‘Patrol Flag Designing’, 1st Place was secured by Bangladesh MHM School, 2nd Place was bagged by Ideal Indian School, and 3rd Place was awarded to Noble International School. The principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb congratulated all the Winners. During his speech, he encouraged Guides to develop leadership and teamwork to promote the scouting movement and community services. Fathima Zia, the Asst. Head Guide proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event was compered by Safa Shaikh. Scout Master Mr. Vijayant Thapa and Guide’s Incharge Ms. Suman Panwar coordinated the event.

IIS HONOURS SPOTLIGHT WINNERS

In a recently organized Prize Distribution Ceremony, Ideal Indian School honored the winners of Spotlight 2023, the cultural competition. More than 1700 students from the Junior, Boys, and Girls Sections took part in this talent recognition exercise. Divided into four categories – Sub-junior, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior – competitions ranged from performing arts to painting, vocal and instrumental music, classical and folk dances, songs, poem recitation, rangoli, public speaking, storytelling, and Quran memorization. Hifz, Tajweed and Adhan were exclusively for Muslim students. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb presented the trophies to the winning houses and certificates to the winners. Heads of Sections and Departments attended the function.
