IIS HONOURS SPOTLIGHT’25 WINNERS : In a recently organised Prize Distribution Ceremony, the Evening Session of Ideal Indian School honoured the winners of Spotlight 2025, the school’s cultural competitions. Students from the KG, Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ Sections participated enthusiastically in this talent recognition programme. The competitions were conducted across various categories, including KG, Kids, Sub-Junior, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior, and covered a wide range of activities such as performing arts, painting, vocal and instrumental music, classical and folk dances, singing, poem recitation, rangoli, public speaking, storytelling, humorous speech etc. Special events on Hifz, Tajweed, and Adhan were also held exclusively for Muslim students. IIS CELEBRATED WORLD FOOD DAY
The Ideal Indian School celebrated World Food Day with great enthusiasm. The event was organized with the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”, emphasizing global collaboration to promote food security, sustainable nutrition, and healthy eating habits. The Celebration was attended by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, Heads of Sections and Heads of Departments. Speaking on the occasion, Principal emphasized the importance of World Food Day, reminding everyone to value food, reduce waste, and support sustainability. He expressed hope for a future where everyone has access to nutritious food and a healthier planet. Students from the morning and evening sessions of KG, Junior, Boys’ and Girls’ Sections enthusiastically participated by preparing a wide variety of healthy and creative dishes. They presented their displays beautifully, accompanied by informative charts, posters, and decorations showcasing the nutritional value of the food items. Each group explained the health benefits, ingredients, and cultural significance of their chosen dishes.
IIS PARTICIPATED IN JOTA-JOTI-2025
The Scouts and Guides of Ideal Indian School enthusiastically participated in the ‘JOTA–JOTI 2025’ event organized by the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, held at the Qatar Amateur Radio Society on Saturday, 18th October 2025. JOTA–JOTI (Jamboree on the Air – Jamboree on the Internet) is a global youth program that enables and encourages Scouts from around the world to communicate and connect through amateur radio and the internet. The event provides a fun, interactive, and educational platform that promotes international friendship, cultural exchange, and digital learning among young Scouts. Representing Ideal Indian School, Scouts – Mohammed Aazim and Muzafar P. M. from the Boys’ Section, and Guides – Aysha Nahan and Hanna Eldho from the Girls’ Section attended the event. The students were accompanied and guided by Mr. Vijayant Thapa (Scout Master) and Ms. Suman Panwar (Guide Leader), who coordinated with the scout officials and ensured the smooth participation of the school contingent. The event offered the students a valuable learning experience, enhancing their understanding of global scouting and communication technologies, while fostering teamwork, leadership, and international camaraderie.
IIS IDEAL LITERATI HOSTS LITERARY COMPETITIONS
The Department of English of Ideal Indian School recently organized Ideal Literati 2025, an inter-school Humorous Speech and Advertisement Skit Competition. Inaugurated by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the event encouraged students to showcase their talents and highlighted the importance of literature as a source of inspiration. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from several Indian schools in Qatar, celebrating creativity and talent. The Humorous Speech Competition was filled with laughter and creativity as participants showcased their wit and comic timing. Each speaker impressed the audience with their confident delivery, engaging expressions, and clever punchlines. The performances reflected not only humor but also strong communication skills and stage presence, making the event both entertaining and memorable. Mohammed Aazim from Ideal Indian School bagged the first position, followed by Harsh Thobhani from DPS–Modern Indian School who secured the second place, while Mohammed Omar Khan from Noble International School claimed the third position. The Advertisement Skit Group Competition was a lively and entertaining event where creativity met marketing brilliance. Each 5-member team showcased their talent through humorous and thought-provoking performances, promoting their imaginary products with catchy taglines and clever acting. The participants impressed the audience with their confidence, coordination, and originality, making the event both engaging and memorable. DPS–Modern Indian School secured the first position, followed by Ideal Indian School in second place, and Loyola International School in third place. Both competitions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges comprising eminent members of Toastmasters International, Ms. Najla Azad and Ms. Shamya Sudhir Shetty, whose valuable feedback and expertise added great insight and credibility to the event. A valedictory function concluded the competitions, with judges appreciating participants’ creativity and stage presence while offering suggestions and receiving tokens of gratitude. The heads of sections awarded trophies and certificates, marking a memorable end to the Ideal Literati competitions. The event was coordinated under the leadership of Event Coordinator Ms. Rajula V. P. and Assistant Coordinator Ms. Safeera S. V. The gathering was cordially welcomed by Ms. Rehana Begum, and the vote of thanks was graciously proposed by Ms. Safeera S. V. IIS Holds awareness session on “Her Health Hygiene”
As part of the No Bag Day activity, the Evening Session of Girls’ Section of Ideal Indian School organized a special awareness session for the students of Grades 5 and 6 on the topic “Her Health Hygiene.” The guest speaker for the day was Ms. Sheela Sharma, a professional trainer at Mind Map Pvt. Ltd. with 16 years of experience. The session was highly informative and engaging, focusing on menstrual hygiene, physical and emotional changes during adolescence, and personal care practices for growing girls. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Aysha Mehreen of Grade 6-F, followed by a warm welcome address. The session was compered by Ms. Sudha Priya, English Teacher. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Nazima Bi Sheikh , Vice Principal and Ms. Khatija T. C. ,Headmistress. Students participated enthusiastically in the interactive activities and showed keen interest in learning about the importance of health and hygiene. As a token of appreciation, a welcome bouquet was presented to the guest by the Headmistress, and a memento was handed over by the Vice Principal. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the end of an inspiring and educational afternoon aimed at empowering young girls with essential knowledge for their well-being.
IIS STUDNTS VISIT SAFA WATER TREATMENT & BOTTLING UNIT
An educational visit to the Safa Water Treatment and Bottling Unit was recently organized for the students of Grade 11 and 12 Engineering Graphics of Ideal Indian School. The visit aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to industrial processes and practical knowledge of water purification and bottling. The session began with an introduction by Mr. Laiju, a chemist at Safa Water, followed by a short video presentation highlighting the company’s milestones. Safa is a leading water treatment company in Qatar, operating for more than 20 years. It is the first company in the country to receive the Quality Mark Emblem and is certified under ISO 22000 standards. The company employs over 500 staff members, operates 200 trucks, and uses advanced hydraulic machinery. Students learned about the step-by-step process of treating water sourced from the Public Distribution System (PDS) of Kahramaa. At Safa, water undergoes a systematic process of purification and quality control—from sourcing and treatment to filtration and bottling—ensuring that the final product is clean, safe, and ready for distribution. They also interacted with the Marketing Manager and General Manager, gaining insights into the company’s production, quality control, and marketing strategies. The staff at Safa Water were welcoming and eager to answer students’ queries. This industrial visit provided an enriching learning experience, allowing students to connect classroom concepts with real-world industrial practices. The Engineering Graphics students expressed their sincere gratitude to Safa Water Treatment and Bottling Unit for the informative session and extended special thanks to the faculty and administration of Ideal Indian School for organizing this valuable educational trip.
IIS HOLDS 9th ISLAMIC AWARENESS COMPETITION
Ideal Indian School recently hosted the 9th Annual Inter-School Uswa-e-Rasool Elocution and Recitation Competition with profound reverence and solemnity. The competition featured two topics for the Elocution segment: Juniors: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a Role Model for Our Daily Life Seniors: Justice and Equality in the Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) In the senior category, Khalid Soban (XII-A) from Ideal Indian School secured first position in the Qur’an Recitation competition, while in the junior category, Mohamed Shaban Naji Eid (VII-D) achieved second position in Qur’an Recitation. In the Elocution competition, Fatima Khairi (XII-G) won second position in the senior category, and Farah Naaz (IX-I) earned first position in the junior category. Among the ten participating schools, Ideal Indian School clinched the Overall Championship Trophy in Elocution, marking a proud moment and a crowning achievement for the institution. The event’s Convener, Mr. Azam Khan (VP-BS), conveyed the message of the Principal, Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb, who extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winners, participants, and teachers from all participating schools. Mr. Azam Khan also expressed his sincere appreciation to Dr. Ehtesham, Head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, and his dedicated team for their exceptional efforts and success. IIS OBSERVED GANDHI JAYANTI
Students of Ideal Indian School actively participated in the global celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, honoring the Father of Independent India. The day, which also marks the International Day of Peace and Non-Violence, featured a variety of activities across all sections of the school in both the morning and evening sessions, highlighting and reinforcing Gandhiji’s timeless message of peace and nonviolence. In the Junior Section, a special assembly for Class 4 highlighted the importance of peace in daily life and the power of small acts of kindness. Grade 3 students carried placards promoting truth, non-violence, and universal brotherhood, reinforcing that peace begins with individuals and spreads to the world. Students from Grades V to VIII actively participated in a variety of creative and thought-provoking activities promoting his values of truth, non-violence, peace, and social responsibility. The celebration began with a tableau presentation on the themes ‘Dandi March’ and ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’, followed by a peaceful procession. The students were selected through an invitation given in the class group. The selection has been made based on interest and performance in the previous activities. Students enthusiastically portrayed key moments from India’s freedom struggle and walked through the school holding placards and chanting slogans promoting Gandhiji’s ideals. To creatively express Gandhian principles, students of Grade V worked in groups to produce collages on the theme “Three Wise Monkeys”, symbolizing the values of seeing, hearing, and speaking no evil. The spirit of cleanliness was brought to life by Grade VI through an individual drawing activity based on “Swachh Bharat”, reflecting Gandhiji’s emphasis on hygiene and public responsibility. Quotes and values of Mahatma Gandhi were beautifully presented by Grade VII students through a calligraphy activity, blending artistic writing with inspirational messages. Grade VIII students demonstrated their understanding of Gandhian philosophy by creating PowerPoint presentations on any three Gandhian values or quotes, linking historical ideals to modern-day relevance. The event was organized by the Department of Social Science, with teachers in charge ensuring smooth coordination and active participation.
IIS Celebrated Grandparents Day
Grandparents are the treasured pillars of wisdom, tradition and love within a family. Their care and guidance strengthen the foundation of family bonds. To honor their invaluable role, Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Grandparents Day. In the morning session Ms. Shirley De Sales, Headmistress of the KG Section, warmly welcomed the parents and highlighted the profound impact grandparents have on shaping lives. The kindergarten students delighted the audience with a captivating song, setting the tone for a memorable event. The teachers of the KG section also presented a song on the occasion. The programme was compered by Ms. Victoria Paul and Ms. Sana Choudhury proposed vote of thanks. In the evening session, the programme began with a warm welcome as grandchildren presented bouquets to their grandparents, followed by a prayer led by Mrs. Jasna. The welcome address was delivered by the Section In-charge, Ms. Christina Sylvia, after which a touching video of grandparents with their grandchildren was shown, and Ms. Malini and Ms. Shabna presented a melodious song. The programme was smoothly compered by Ms. Ruth Mennie and concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Nuzhath Banu. Grandparents actively participated in various fun-filled activities such as singing and games and the winners received prizes. Each grandparent was gifted a handmade greeting card created by the students, a heartfelt token of love and appreciation. The grandparents expressed their gratitude to Ideal Indian School for nurturing the bond between generations through such meaningful events. Students of the KG section engaged in making greeting cards by hand-printing on worksheets for their grandparents, making the day even more special.
IIS MARKS WORLD HEART DAY
The Department of Science organized a special program to mark World Heart Day. The theme of the event was “Safety and Children,” focusing on raising awareness among students about the importance of heart health and preventive measures. The program was attended by Class IX students, teachers, and school dignitaries. The event commenced with a solemn prayer led by Mohammed Obaid of Class XI, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Fenin Shavaera of Class XI, who greeted the gathering and set the tone for the day’s proceedings. The session was conducted by Dr. Mohit Kaul, Associate Specialist in Emergency Medicine at Aster Hospital. Dr. Kaul delivered an interactive and insightful talk on child safety and first aid, covering practical steps for handling emergencies such as fractures, splint application, animal bites, nosebleeds, and burns. His presentation was both informative and engaging, equipping students with essential knowledge to respond effectively during emergencies. Dr. Kaul’s message encouraged students to take charge of their own health and raise awareness within their families and communities. The session emphasized the importance of being prepared to face emergencies with confidence and responsibility. The Vice Principal of the Boys’ Section, Mr. Azam Khan, and the Vice Principal of the Girls’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, presented a memento and bouquet to the Guest of Honour, Dr. Mohit Kaul, as a token of appreciation. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by the Eco Club Girls’ Section President, Sanam of Class XI. The event was coordinated under the guidance of the Department of Science, with the support of the Head of Department (Science), Mr. Riyas. The celebration not only honoured World Heart Day but also empowered students with life-saving skills, leaving them more aware, responsible, and prepared to face emergencies.
