The Junior Section of IIS observed Qatar National Environment Day under the theme, ‘Our Earth, Our Legacy,’ which resonated throughout the events organized to mark the occasion. A special assembly was led by the Headmaster, Section Coordinator, teachers, and students. Students from Classes I to IV participated in the assembly and mesmerised the audience with their thoughtful messages and song. A student of Class IV, Sheikh Ashraf, amazed everyone with her inspiring speech, while the tiny tots of Grade 2 presented an awareness program on the environment and climate change.
The assembly was hosted by Ms. Remya Ranjith. Headmaster Mr. Sajid Shamim delivered an insightful message on the significance of the day and emphasized the need for water management, waste management, and sustainable land use. Junior Section students actively took part in various ‘Best out of Waste’ activities related to Qatar National Environment Day to promote environmental awareness. These included decorating a given outline using pencil shavings, making a cardboard family frame, creating a bookmark using ice cream sticks, and crafting a flower vase from used bottles.
