IIS EMPOWERS TEACHERS THROUGH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Ideal Indian School, organised a five-day Orientation Programme for its teachers, from 24th to 28th August 2025, marking the start of the academic year with a renewed focus on professional growth, innovation, and well-being. The programme was meticulously designed to enhance teachers’ knowledge, equip them with modern pedagogical skills, and prepare them for the new session with confidence and enthusiasm.

The refresher course commenced with an address by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, who oriented the faculty for the Academic Year 2025–26. In a subsequent session, he elaborated on the updated school policies, underscoring the collective responsibility of teachers in upholding the highest standards while fostering discipline, inclusivity, and innovation in classroom practices. He emphasised the need to create an inclusive learning environment where every student—irrespective of background, learning style, or ability—feels valued and supported. He further highlighted the significance of life skills in education, noting that teachers are not merely transmitters of academic knowledge but also pivotal contributors to the holistic development of students.

On the second day, Dr. Ambrin Siddiqui, a licensed physiotherapist, delivered an engaging session on “Empowered Educators: The Role of Physical and Mental Fitness in Effective Teaching.” She underlined the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle for teachers to ensure effective classroom delivery. Dr. Siddiqui highlighted how regular exercise, proper posture, and stress-relieving practices can significantly enhance stamina and concentration, enabling teachers to remain energetic and motivated throughout the academic year. She further emphasised that both physical well-being and mental resilience are indispensable for creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Later, Ms. Maninderjit Kaur presented an insightful session on “Effective Integration of AI Tools in Teaching and Learning.” She introduced teachers to a variety of AI-based applications and platforms that can simplify lesson planning, preparing worksheets, personalize learning experiences, and support differentiated instruction. She also encouraged teachers to embrace innovation with an open mindset, reminding them that digital literacy is an essential skill for both educators and learners in the 21st century.

The third day featured an insightful session by Mr. Mohamed Mazher Yahya, a passionate and dynamic trainer, which was devoted to “Stress Management: Emotional Well-being for Teachers.” He conducted lively and interactive sessions, blending practical strategies with engaging activities. Through role-plays, group tasks, and light-hearted exercises, Mr. Mazhar created a fun-filled yet thought-provoking environment that encouraged teachers to openly reflect on their own stress levels and coping patterns. He guided them in identifying stress triggers, building emotional resilience, and maintaining a positive outlook, thereby promoting both professional excellence and personal balance. His activity-oriented approach not only kept the participants fully engaged but also ensured that they left the session with practical tools to incorporate into their daily routines.

On the fourth day, the focus shifted to Departmental Meetings, where subject teachers collaborated to plan, share strategies, and align goals for the upcoming session. These meetings provided an essential platform for discussion and coordination, ensuring that teaching approaches are unified and purposeful.

The programme concluded on Thursday, 28th August, with Section-wise Meetings led by the Section Heads. These meetings allowed teachers to review section-specific goals, address practical concerns, and prepare collectively for the smooth conduct of the academic year.

The five-day refresher course at Ideal Indian School was a truly comprehensive and transformative experience, offering the faculty invaluable opportunities for growth and reflection. The diverse sessions on wellness, technology, school policies, and collaborative planning empowered teachers with fresh perspectives, innovative strategies, and renewed confidence to excel in their roles.
