IDEAL LITERATI HOLDS LITERARY COMPETITIONS

The Department of English of Ideal Indian School hosted the Ideal Literati – an Inter School Dramatic Monologue and Extempore Competition on 19th September 2024 in the KG Auditorium. The competition was inaugurated by the School Principal, Mr. Sheik Shamim Saheb. The event attracted a multitude of literary enthusiasts from various Indian schools in Qatar. The extempore competition was a captivating display of spontaneous speaking abilities and sharp thinking. The unpredictable aspect of extempore speaking posed difficulties, requiring participants to think quickly and deliver coherent, well-organized responses within a limited time. Aditya Jain from DPS Modern Indian School secured the first position, Avika Gaur from DPS Monarch International School secured the second position and Afrin Salma of Ideal Indian School secured the third position. The Inter School Dramatic Monologue competition effectively fostered literary knowledge and strengthened bonds among students. More than just the excitement of winning, the event highlighted a shared enthusiasm for literature, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved. Mohamed Areeb of Ideal Indian School secured the first position, Evelyn Johnly from MES Indian School secured the second position and Nezli Abdul Lathief from Shantiniketan Indian School secured third position. Both competitions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including Member of Toast Masters Ms. Najla Azad, Toast Master Ms. Neha Yusuf, and Toast Master, Ms. Nirmala Raghuraman. Following the competition, a valedictory function was held where the Principal of Ideal Indian School Mr. Sheik Shamim Saheb, awarded trophies & certificates to the winners. The Principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb congratulated the students, teachers and participants from the schools in Doha. He underscored the importance of literature in students’ lives, portraying it as a lifelong companion. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Anwar Sadath, AHM-Academics and Head of English, Ms. Ryhanath PI, the Event Coordinator and their team for their outstanding success. The Principal also thanked all section heads for their supportive role in executing the innovative Ideal Literati program. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. Poornima Ramesh and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Shebin Basheer. Master Rishi Balan, Master Suhail Sadik and Miss Aysha Ziya were the comperes of the competition.

STUDENTS VISITED CONTEQ EXPO 2024

Engineering Graphics students from 11th and 12th grade at Ideal Indian School visited the ConteQ Expo 2024 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), recently where they gained real-world exposure to advancements in construction and engineering technologies. ConteQ Expo is known for presenting innovative technologies transforming the construction and services sectors, with this year’s event featuring over 250 exhibitors, including global giants like Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Siemens, and IBM. During the visit, students explored futuristic technologies shaping the future of engineering. One of the highlights was the Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, where students could walk through 3D-printed buildings and view immersive digital models of upcoming construction projects. The interactive displays allowed students to see how virtual design tools are used in modern construction. They also explored Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, with several booths showcasing AI platforms capable of answering real-time questions about construction materials, sustainability, and digital infrastructure.

IIS Excelled in CBSE Cluster Yoga Competition

Ideal Indian School students excelled in the CBSE Cluster Yoga competition held at Scholars International School recently. The Under 14 team emerged as champions, with Anushka Anil (9K) crowned the individual champion. Other team members included Sreenitha V. Praseeth (8L), Rebekah Cherian (8L) and Catherine Mejo (6I). The Under 17 and Under 19 teams both secured second place. The Under 17 team comprised Nakshatra Vigneshwaran (11F), Aseel Elfatih (11G), Daniya Rahman (8L) and Barza Jasser (5G). The Under 19 team featured Sreenanda V. Praseeth (11F), Aishwarya Sunil (12G), Suditi Padiachy (11G) and Shouq (12G). Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb and the Head of Sections congratulated the team for their glorious performance.

IIS TEAM WINS BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ideal Indian School Boys’ Badminton teams recently participated in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Badminton Tournament held at DPS Monarch International School and exhibited exceptional performance that brought pride to our institution. The Under-14 team secured a Silver medal, while the Under-17 team clinched a Bronze medal. The school’s talented athletes representing the Under-14 Boys’ Category included Muhammad Noman Sayeed (8B), Mohammad Yahiya Yakkoob (8C), and Adon Cheriyan Liju (4D). In the Under-17 Boys’ Category, Muhammad Aman Sayeed (10A), Tomy Fernando James (10E), and Fauzan Ahmed (11A) demonstrated remarkable skill and teamwork. Mr. Satender Singh Panwar was assigned the role of being in charge of the boys’ badminton teams, with Mr. Fayaz Ahamed serving as Team Manager. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb and the Head of Sections congratulated the badminton teams for their outstanding achievements. Their dedication and hard work have truly made the Ideal Indian School proud.

IIS STUDENT SHINES AT CHETNA 2024

To celebrate and highlight the importance of Hindi, the most widely spoken language in India, M.E.S. Doha, Qatar, organized “CHETNA 2024” on 12th September 2024. The event featured a range of competitions across various age groups. In the Mono Act competition, Samridhi Panwar, a Class 8 student from Ideal Indian School, secured first place, showcasing her talent and bringing pride to her school.

INSTALLATION OF NEW EXCOM OF IDEAL INDIAN SCHOOL GAVEL CLUB

The installation ceremony for the new Excom for Ideal Indian School Gavel Club was a landmark event, celebrating the beginning of a journey aimed at enhancing the public speaking and leadership skills of its members. The event was held on 02nd June at KG Auditorium, attended by a diverse group of participants including club members, guests, and dignitaries. The ceremony began with a warm welcome by Secretary of the club Master Dafydd Reagan, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their support and participation. The installation of new club officers was the highlight of the event. The new executive committee (Excom) members were introduced, and their roles were officially handed over. A keynote speech was delivered by MTM Nirmala Raghuraman, Divion E director a distinguished member of the Toastmasters community. The speech focused on the importance of leadership and communication skills in personal and professional development. The oath was administered by MTM Priya Shembekar Area Director 17, who also shared inspiring anecdotes and practical advice on how to make the most of the Gavel Club experience. IIS OBSERVED NO TOBACCO DAY

Ideal Indian School observed No Tobacco Day, aligning with global efforts to highlight the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle. Various programs were organized in all sections to create awareness among students about the dangers of tobacco and its impact on health. In the junior section, a morning assembly featured a skit to raise awareness and Nabiha from class 4 delivered a speech. Students learned about passive smoking and ways to avoid it. Both the Boys’ and Girls’ Sections participated in various activities to mark the day. These activities included a video screening, an awareness campaign, drawing and poster-making competition, all designed to educate students about the dangers of tobacco consumption.

IIS HOLDS TEACHERS ORIENTATION

Ideal Indian School recently organised a teachers’ orientation program aimed at updating them on the latest educational developments and enhancing their understanding of effective pedagogy. The program began with an insightful session led by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, who discussed the critical topic of “Alignment of Vision and Mission with Curriculum.” This session emphasised the importance of ensuring that the school’s vision and mission are effectively integrated into the curriculum, thereby providing a cohesive educational experience for students. Following this, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaik, Vice Principal, Girls’ Section delivered an engaging presentation on the topic of psychological well-being in schools. Her talk highlighted the significance of mental health for both students and teachers, offering strategies to create a supportive and nurturing school environment. Mr. Sajid Shamim, Headmaster Junior Section coordinated the Teachers’ orientation programme.

IIS STUDENTS WIN BADMINTON TITLE

IIS students excelled in the recently held Bunts Qatar Badminton Tournament organized by the Bunts Qatar Group. Aman Sayeed of class X and Noman Sayeed of class VIII participated in the Under-16 category, won the tournament, and brought laurels to the school. In the Qatar Badminton Association Leg 2 tournament, Noman Sayeed of class VIII won the bronze medal in the Under-15 category organized by the Qatar Badminton Association. The Principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, congratulated the students on their achievement.

IIS HOSTS BOOK READING, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION WORKSHOP

Ideal Indian School conducted a workshop for students of Grades 4 and 5 on Book reading, Analysis and Presentation, Impromptu speaking abilities, Goal setting, Life Skill Building and Trivia. The resource person for the two-day workshop was Ms. Sushma Harish – Life Coach, Mentor and Author. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb and the Heads of the Boys, Girls, Junior and KG sections graced the session. Speaking on this occasion, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb emphasised the benefits of reading and its impact on the students. He also spoke about how reading books will help students to improve their vocabulary, communication and public speaking skills. He encouraged the young learners to develop the habit of reading books and widen their knowledge on various aspects of the world. Ms. Sushma Harish the spokesperson for the workshop is an ambassador for promoting holistic and comprehensive learning in children by organizing various workshops at different educational institutions and organisations. She strives to promote reading, public speaking skills, speech sessions and creative writing skills among students. During the workshop, Ms. Sushma Harish spoke to the students about the benefits of reading books. She focused on how to analyse a text and interpret the Title of the books, its genre and illustrations. Students were introduced to the books of different genres written by famous authors. Ms. Sushma mentioned how Blurb influences the readers and creates curiosity in them. Students were encouraged to come forward and speak on the given topics in front of the audience to boost their self-confidence. Engaging and fun-filled activities were conducted during the workshop. Interesting video clips focusing on the different qualities of a good reader also kept the young learners engaged. Ms. Sushma Harish made use of phrases from her debut book ‘Kismet’ to inspire the students. A quiz session was also conducted and Handcrafted bookmarks were given to the winning students. The two-day fruitful and engaging workshop helped the young enthusiasts and learners to enhance their vocabulary and develop an interest in them for reading. The program was compered by Ms. Sharon Soans, Ms. Nanthini and Ms. Sana Sayeed. Mr. Sajid Shamim, Headmaster, Junior Section coordinated the workshop.
