Ideal Indian School recently organised a fun-filled day trip to Jungle Zone Amusement Park for its kindergarten students. The two-day special excursion for KG1 nad KG2 was conducted to provide the young learners with an opportunity to explore, play and interact in a stimulating environment outside the classroom. The visit to the amusement park featured a variety of engaging activities, including fun rides, interactive play zones and creative workshops. The children delighted in the experience, which was not only entertaining but also beneficial for their social and cognitive development.

IIS MARKED INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE NON-VIOLENCE (GANDHI JAYANTI)

Ideal Indian School marked WORLD PEACE DAY on 2nd October 2024 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and instill his values and principles among students. Various engaging activities in KG, Junior, Girls’ and Boys’ Sections to raise awareness about the importance of non-violence. Students in the Junior section took part in various activities, including coloring, poster making, and crafting miniature spinning wheels (Charkhas). The highlight of the day was a vibrant procession by students, depicting the three significant stages of Gandhiji’s life To mark this special occasion, the Social Science Department of Ideal Indian School organized a range of activities to commemorate the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and to instill his values among the students. Various educational events were held to honor Gandhiji’s legacy. Competitions were organized to encourage active student participation. These included Craft Work, Drawing, Calligraphy Writing, and Chart Making, all centered on Gandhiji’s values. An inter-house Bulletin Board competition was also conducted during the occasion. These activities provided students with an opportunity to express their admiration for Gandhiji’s life and his role in India’s independence movement, while also learning about the relevance of his ideals in today’s world. Students were encouraged to ask questions and discuss Gandhiji’s philosophy and its relevance today, making the program interactive and educational. This helped them gain a deeper understanding of Gandhi Jayanti and the lasting importance of his principles.

GAVEL CLUB HOLDS COMPETITIONS

The purpose of Gavel Club’s activity in IIS is to inspire and support students to achieve excellence in speaking. The students receive training in a variety of areas, including table topics, humorous speaking, project speech, and evaluation, Students take a keen interest in attending GAVEL CLUB on specified dates, delivering speeches and Evaluating as well. This practice has enabled them to overcome stage fright and shyness and in turn boosted their confidence level and to speak spontaneously to any sort of audience. Ideal Gavel club competitions have been conducted on 17th September 2024. Around 30 students enrolled for table topics, humorous speech, prepared speech and Evaluation. The competition was judged by Mr. Anwar Sadath, Ms. Saba Ali and Chief Judge Mr. Sajid Shamim they assessed participants based on criteria such as speech content, delivery, body language and overall presentation. Participants were acknowledged for their outstanding efforts. Mr. Sajid Shamim announced the winners Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh Vice Principal Girls’ Section and Mr. Azam Khan Vice Principal Boys Section presented the prizes, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the principal, congratulated the winners. Recognizing the hard work and achievements of the gaveliers. All Participants gave their Best, while everyone was inspired by their passion and positive energy. The announcement of the winners in each category marked the end of the event. The results are as follows. In the International Speech contest, Sara Tarik Parkar from Class IX G secured 1st place, Shriya Patil from Class IX J won 2nd place and Aman Farhan from Class XI A achieved 3rd place. In the Evaluation Contest, Leyasri S from Class X H came 1st, Shriya Patil from Class IX J secured 2nd place and Safin Parkar from Class XI A finished 3rd. In the Table Topics contest, Stephin V Samson from Class X B claimed 1st place, Rishi Balan from Class XI B took 2nd place and Shriya Patil from Class IX J placed 3rd.

Home Science Students Explore Hospitality Industry at Hotel Traffen House

Home Science students from Class 12 of IIS recently visited Hotel Traffen House at Msherib, Doha, for an insightful exposure to the hospitality industry. The visit began with an informative session led by the hotel’s General Manager, followed by a guided tour. During the visit, students received firsthand insights into key departments such as the front office, housekeeping and food and beverage services. They were also given the unique opportunity to participate in the day-to-day operations of these departments, gaining a practical understanding of how they function. A highlight of the trip was an interactive cooking session in the hotel’s star-rated kitchen, where students experienced the thrill of culinary work. The visit was an enriching experience, offering students invaluable knowledge about the hospitality industry.

Ideal Indian School Team Excels at CBSE Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Championship

Ideal Indian School Team Excels at CBSE Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Championship: Ideal Indian School bagged the overall championship in both the boys’ and girls’ categories of the recently held CBSE Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Championship. Various CBSE schools in Qatar added color to the event, making it a grand success. The competitions were held in six categories and Ideal Indian School swept the championship in all of them. Ideal Indian School won a total of 25 gold medals in the boys’ category and 19 gold medals in the girls’ category. Sixty-four students from Ideal Indian School qualified to participate in the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship, to be held in India during the month of October. Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb congratulated the department on their remarkable success and appreciated their undying spirit and dedication in training and preparing the students for the tournament, as well as for the successful conduct of the championship. He also congratulated the winners on their victory. The head of the Boys’ Section, Mr. Azam Khan and the Head of the Girls’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, also praised the winners and motivated them to prepare and perform well in future tournaments. The team was trained and prepared by the school’s Martial Arts Trainer, Mr. Amazad Khan, along with Physical Education teachers, Ms. Suman Panwar and Ms. Ajanya.

IIS CELEBRATED WORLD OZONE DAY

Ideal Indian School marked World Ozone Day on 16th September 2024 with an inspiring celebration to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer. The 2024 World Ozone Day theme was “Montreal Protocol: Advancing Climate Action.” Various activities were organised in the Junior Girls’ and Boys’ Sections. A special morning assembly was conducted in the Junior Section, where students spoke about the need to preserve the ozone layer and the impact of ozone depletion on the environment. Class-wise activities including coloring, making collages, headbands, and placards were organised. The Eco Club of Ideal Indian School organised various activities to raise awareness among students about tackling global warming and climate change. A poster-making and slogan-writing competition was conducted for students of classes 5 to 9. Students created creative posters and impactful slogans, reflecting their commitment to promoting a sustainable environment. Students performed a thought-provoking skit highlighting the harmful effects of UV rays and methods to prevent ozone layer depletion. The students also presented an eco-themed song, adding a musical element to the awareness campaign. Many teachers worked tirelessly to ensure the success of World Ozone Day. Mr. Azam Khan, Vice Principal of the Boys’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, Vice Principal of the Girls’ Section and Headmistress Ms. Khatija T.C. graced the event and appreciated the students’ efforts towards environmental conservation. In the Junior Section, Headmaster Mr. Sajid Shamim and Section Coordinator Ms. Jaseena Abdulla attended as chief guests.

IDEAL LITERATI HOLDS LITERARY COMPETITIONS

The Department of English of Ideal Indian School hosted the Ideal Literati – an Inter School Dramatic Monologue and Extempore Competition on 19th September 2024 in the KG Auditorium. The competition was inaugurated by the School Principal, Mr. Sheik Shamim Saheb. The event attracted a multitude of literary enthusiasts from various Indian schools in Qatar. The extempore competition was a captivating display of spontaneous speaking abilities and sharp thinking. The unpredictable aspect of extempore speaking posed difficulties, requiring participants to think quickly and deliver coherent, well-organized responses within a limited time. Aditya Jain from DPS Modern Indian School secured the first position, Avika Gaur from DPS Monarch International School secured the second position and Afrin Salma of Ideal Indian School secured the third position. The Inter School Dramatic Monologue competition effectively fostered literary knowledge and strengthened bonds among students. More than just the excitement of winning, the event highlighted a shared enthusiasm for literature, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved. Mohamed Areeb of Ideal Indian School secured the first position, Evelyn Johnly from MES Indian School secured the second position and Nezli Abdul Lathief from Shantiniketan Indian School secured third position. Both competitions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including Member of Toast Masters Ms. Najla Azad, Toast Master Ms. Neha Yusuf, and Toast Master, Ms. Nirmala Raghuraman. Following the competition, a valedictory function was held where the Principal of Ideal Indian School Mr. Sheik Shamim Saheb, awarded trophies & certificates to the winners. The Principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb congratulated the students, teachers and participants from the schools in Doha. He underscored the importance of literature in students’ lives, portraying it as a lifelong companion. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Anwar Sadath, AHM-Academics and Head of English, Ms. Ryhanath PI, the Event Coordinator and their team for their outstanding success. The Principal also thanked all section heads for their supportive role in executing the innovative Ideal Literati program. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. Poornima Ramesh and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Shebin Basheer. Master Rishi Balan, Master Suhail Sadik and Miss Aysha Ziya were the comperes of the competition.

STUDENTS VISITED CONTEQ EXPO 2024

Engineering Graphics students from 11th and 12th grade at Ideal Indian School visited the ConteQ Expo 2024 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), recently where they gained real-world exposure to advancements in construction and engineering technologies. ConteQ Expo is known for presenting innovative technologies transforming the construction and services sectors, with this year’s event featuring over 250 exhibitors, including global giants like Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Siemens, and IBM. During the visit, students explored futuristic technologies shaping the future of engineering. One of the highlights was the Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, where students could walk through 3D-printed buildings and view immersive digital models of upcoming construction projects. The interactive displays allowed students to see how virtual design tools are used in modern construction. They also explored Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, with several booths showcasing AI platforms capable of answering real-time questions about construction materials, sustainability, and digital infrastructure.

IIS Excelled in CBSE Cluster Yoga Competition

Ideal Indian School students excelled in the CBSE Cluster Yoga competition held at Scholars International School recently. The Under 14 team emerged as champions, with Anushka Anil (9K) crowned the individual champion. Other team members included Sreenitha V. Praseeth (8L), Rebekah Cherian (8L) and Catherine Mejo (6I). The Under 17 and Under 19 teams both secured second place. The Under 17 team comprised Nakshatra Vigneshwaran (11F), Aseel Elfatih (11G), Daniya Rahman (8L) and Barza Jasser (5G). The Under 19 team featured Sreenanda V. Praseeth (11F), Aishwarya Sunil (12G), Suditi Padiachy (11G) and Shouq (12G). IIS TEAM WINS BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ideal Indian School Boys’ Badminton teams recently participated in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Badminton Tournament held at DPS Monarch International School and exhibited exceptional performance that brought pride to our institution. The Under-14 team secured a Silver medal, while the Under-17 team clinched a Bronze medal. The school’s talented athletes representing the Under-14 Boys’ Category included Muhammad Noman Sayeed (8B), Mohammad Yahiya Yakkoob (8C), and Adon Cheriyan Liju (4D). In the Under-17 Boys’ Category, Muhammad Aman Sayeed (10A), Tomy Fernando James (10E), and Fauzan Ahmed (11A) demonstrated remarkable skill and teamwork. Mr. Satender Singh Panwar was assigned the role of being in charge of the boys’ badminton teams, with Mr. Fayaz Ahamed serving as Team Manager. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb and the Head of Sections congratulated the badminton teams for their outstanding achievements.
