IIS OBSERVED INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

Ideal Indian School celebrated the International Day of Yoga with enthusiastic student participation. In commemoration of the occasion, IIS organised a vibrant and inspiring yoga session under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The event was conducted by the Department of Physical Education and witnessed active participation from a large number of students from the Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ Sections, who came together to embrace the spirit of yoga and well-being. The event began with warm-up exercises and stretching routines, followed by a well-coordinated demonstration of sitting and standing asanas, showcasing the students’ discipline, focus, and flexibility. The entire performance reflected weeks of preparation and training, highlighting the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for improved concentration, relaxation, and overall fitness. Nakshatra, the Cultural Secretary, gave an insightful explanation during the demonstration, elaborating on the origins of yoga, its global recognition, and its scientifically proven benefits. Speaking on the occasion the Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, highlighted the significance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world. He emphasised that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic discipline that nurtures the body, calms the mind and uplifts the spirit.

KG KIDS CELEBRATED FATHER’S DAY

The tiny tots of Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Father’s Day with great enthusiasm. The KG section wore a festive look as students, dressed in colourful outfits, impersonated fathers from various nationalities. Speaking on the occasion, the students highlighted the love and greatness of fathers and appreciated the care and support they provide. Special colouring sheets were given to the students to paint and present to their fathers.

EID CELEBRATION AT IIS

The Junior Section of Ideal Indian School recently celebrated the festival of Eid with great joy and excitement. The event aimed to promote cultural understanding, unity, and the spirit of togetherness among students and staff. The assembly began with a prayer by Ahmed Shaban, followed by a speech delivered by Amina Ayriah of Class 3. She eloquently explained the meaning and importance of Eid-ul-Adha, highlighting its core values of compassion, charity, and gratitude. A lively dance performance by boys and girls showcased the main traditions of Eid—spending time with family, exchanging sweets, applying henna, and enjoying other joyful customs associated with the festival. The Headmaster of the Junior Section, Mr. Sajid Shamim, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of remembering the less fortunate and being grateful during the festive season. The host of the day, Ms. Nisha Raj, concluded the assembly by wishing everyone Eid Mubarak. As part of the celebration, students also engaged in various Eid-themed activities in their classrooms, which added to the festive spirit and enhanced the learning experience.

IIS CELEBRATED GARANGAO WITH TRADITION AND CULTURAL RICHNESS

Garangao is a traditional festival celebrated in Gulf countries, particularly Qatar, on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival holds great significance, especially for children. Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Garangao in a traditional manner. Students from the Junior, Boys’, Girls’ Sections, and the Evening Shift dressed in colorful traditional attire and carried baskets and bags decorated with bright colors and patterns. Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, along with the headmaster, Mr. Sajid Shamim and Section Coordinator, Ms. Jeseena, distributed Garangao goodie bags filled with nuts to the children.In the Boys’ Section, Vice Principal Mr. Azam Khan attended the celebration, while in the Girls’ Section, Vice Principal Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh and Headmistress Ms. Khatija T.C. were also present. The Garangao celebration was a memorable occasion that allowed students to engage with Qatari culture while enjoying a day full of fun. It fostered a sense of community, respect for traditions, and enthusiasm among the students. The school eagerly anticipates continuing this annual celebration to uphold and promote cultural values.

IIS Evening Session Students Visit Msheireb Museums

Ideal Indian School recently organised an educational tour for the students of the Evening Session to Msheireb Museums, aimed at enhancing their understanding of Qatar’s rich heritage, social transformation and cultural evolution through an immersive learning experience. Msheireb Museums consist of four heritage houses located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, showcasing Qatar’s history, culture and transformation from its early days to the present. A total of 36 students from Grade 8 participated in this educational tour. The students were warmly welcomed by the museum staff, who provided an overview of Msheireb Museums and their historical significance. The visit included guided tours of the four heritage houses—Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House and Radwani House—each offering unique insights into different aspects of Qatar’s past and present. The tour began at Mohammed Bin Jassim House, where students explored the transformation of Msheireb from a traditional neighborhood into a model of sustainable urban development. They learned about Qatar’s vision for heritage conservation and modern city planning. At Bin Jelmood House, which highlights the history of slavery in the region and promotes awareness of human rights and social justice, students engaged in discussions on the importance of freedom, equality, and the impact of historical events on modern society. Next, students visited Company House, which narrates the story of Qatar’s oil industry and the workers who contributed to its development. Through interactive displays and archival materials, they gained a deeper appreciation for the struggles and achievements of the early workforce in shaping Qatar’s economy. The visit concluded at Radwani House, where students gained insights into traditional Qatari family life and social customs. They observed artifacts and exhibits showcasing the evolution of domestic life over the decades. The educational tour to Msheireb Museums was a memorable and insightful experience for IIS students. It not only broadened their historical perspectives but also inspired them to reflect on the importance of cultural preservation and societal progress. IIS STUDENT YEDHU KRISHNA ACHIEVES GLOBAL SPORTING GLORY

Yedhu Krishna K. P. Anand, a grade 12 student of Ideal Indian School, recently showcased his exceptional karate skills on an international platform by participating in the World Karate Federation’s Karate 1-Youth League held at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, U.A.E., from February 20 to 23, 2025. Competing in the highly competitive Junior Kumite Male -55 kg category, Yedhu Krishna demonstrated commendable determination and sportsmanship, marking a significant milestone in his karate journey. Yedhu Krishna has consistently proven his expertise in karate, with one of his most remarkable achievements being the Gold medal victory in the Qatar Open Karate Championship-2024. His dedication and success serve as an inspiration to his peers and the entire school community. Their achievements were recognised by CBSE Gulf Sahodaya, which awarded them appreciation certificates for their outstanding contributions.
