IIS EMPOWERS TEACHERS THROUGH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Ideal Indian School, organised a five-day Orientation Programme for its teachers, from 24th to 28th August 2025, marking the start of the academic year with a renewed focus on professional growth, innovation, and well-being. The programme was meticulously designed to enhance teachers’ knowledge, equip them with modern pedagogical skills, and prepare them for the new session with confidence and enthusiasm. The refresher course commenced with an address by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, who oriented the faculty for the Academic Year 2025–26. In a subsequent session, he elaborated on the updated school policies, underscoring the collective responsibility of teachers in upholding the highest standards while fostering discipline, inclusivity, and innovation in classroom practices. He emphasised the need to create an inclusive learning environment where every student—irrespective of background, learning style, or ability—feels valued and supported. He further highlighted the significance of life skills in education, noting that teachers are not merely transmitters of academic knowledge but also pivotal contributors to the holistic development of students. On the second day, Dr. Ambrin Siddiqui, a licensed physiotherapist, delivered an engaging session on “Empowered Educators: The Role of Physical and Mental Fitness in Effective Teaching.” She underlined the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle for teachers to ensure effective classroom delivery. Dr. Siddiqui highlighted how regular exercise, proper posture, and stress-relieving practices can significantly enhance stamina and concentration, enabling teachers to remain energetic and motivated throughout the academic year. She further emphasised that both physical well-being and mental resilience are indispensable for creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Later, Ms. Maninderjit Kaur presented an insightful session on “Effective Integration of AI Tools in Teaching and Learning.” She introduced teachers to a variety of AI-based applications and platforms that can simplify lesson planning, preparing worksheets, personalize learning experiences, and support differentiated instruction. She also encouraged teachers to embrace innovation with an open mindset, reminding them that digital literacy is an essential skill for both educators and learners in the 21st century. The third day featured an insightful session by Mr. Mohamed Mazher Yahya, a passionate and dynamic trainer, which was devoted to “Stress Management: Emotional Well-being for Teachers.” He conducted lively and interactive sessions, blending practical strategies with engaging activities. Through role-plays, group tasks, and light-hearted exercises, Mr. Mazhar created a fun-filled yet thought-provoking environment that encouraged teachers to openly reflect on their own stress levels and coping patterns. He guided them in identifying stress triggers, building emotional resilience, and maintaining a positive outlook, thereby promoting both professional excellence and personal balance. His activity-oriented approach not only kept the participants fully engaged but also ensured that they left the session with practical tools to incorporate into their daily routines. On the fourth day, the focus shifted to Departmental Meetings, where subject teachers collaborated to plan, share strategies, and align goals for the upcoming session. These meetings provided an essential platform for discussion and coordination, ensuring that teaching approaches are unified and purposeful. The programme concluded on Thursday, 28th August, with Section-wise Meetings led by the Section Heads. These meetings allowed teachers to review section-specific goals, address practical concerns, and prepare collectively for the smooth conduct of the academic year. The five-day refresher course at Ideal Indian School was a truly comprehensive and transformative experience, offering the faculty invaluable opportunities for growth and reflection. The diverse sessions on wellness, technology, school policies, and collaborative planning empowered teachers with fresh perspectives, innovative strategies, and renewed confidence to excel in their roles. As IIS strides forward with vibrancy and purpose, the insights gained from this programme are poised to translate into a more dynamic, future-ready, and nurturing learning environment for students. IIS CELEBRATES 79th INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INDIA

The 79th Independence Day of India was joyously celebrated at Ideal Indian School with immense enthusiasm reflecting the spirit of unity and love for the country. Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P., the School President, proudly unfurled the Indian national flag at 7:30 a.m., accompanied by the reverberating chant of ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ the national anthem by the School Choir. A gathering of Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, Heads of Sections, Heads of Departments, both teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents and well-wishers assembled at the school campus to witness the flag-hoisting ceremony. In his inspiring speech, School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P. emphasised the significance of remembering and honouring the courage and sacrifices of the freedom fighters, whose indomitable spirit won us independence. He highlighted that their selfless devotion and unyielding resolve serve as an enduring source of inspiration, reminding us to protect our freedom and work tirelessly towards the nation’s progress and unity. He urged everyone to move forward together by upholding unity, embracing diversity and striving for a stronger, progressive and harmonious India. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim stated that Independence Day is a time to express our heartfelt gratitude and to solemnly commemorate the sacrifices made by our great leaders and freedom fighters. He also urged everyone to give their very best in every endeavour, commit wholeheartedly to the service of the nation and rededicate themselves to upholding the ideals that will continue to make India proud. The programme started with a prayer by Mr. Imran, Teacher, Arabic Department. Riyana Abdul Rashid expressed her love for the nation by delivering a poem recitation. Aaira Farhan, Vedha Vivek and Diya Karthik Presented a Patriotic Dance number. The Independence Day programme was hosted by Ms. Heena Farhan, Teacher Junior Section.

IIS OBSERVED INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

Ideal Indian School celebrated the International Day of Yoga with enthusiastic student participation. In commemoration of the occasion, IIS organised a vibrant and inspiring yoga session under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The event was conducted by the Department of Physical Education and witnessed active participation from a large number of students from the Junior, Boys’, and Girls’ Sections, who came together to embrace the spirit of yoga and well-being. The event began with warm-up exercises and stretching routines, followed by a well-coordinated demonstration of sitting and standing asanas, showcasing the students’ discipline, focus, and flexibility. The entire performance reflected weeks of preparation and training, highlighting the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for improved concentration, relaxation, and overall fitness. Nakshatra, the Cultural Secretary, gave an insightful explanation during the demonstration, elaborating on the origins of yoga, its global recognition, and its scientifically proven benefits. Speaking on the occasion the Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, highlighted the significance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world. KG KIDS CELEBRATED FATHER’S DAY

The tiny tots of Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Father’s Day with great enthusiasm. The KG section wore a festive look as students, dressed in colourful outfits, impersonated fathers from various nationalities. Speaking on the occasion, the students highlighted the love and greatness of fathers and appreciated the care and support they provide. Special colouring sheets were given to the students to paint and present to their fathers.

EID CELEBRATION AT IIS

The Junior Section of Ideal Indian School recently celebrated the festival of Eid with great joy and excitement. The event aimed to promote cultural understanding, unity, and the spirit of togetherness among students and staff. The assembly began with a prayer by Ahmed Shaban, followed by a speech delivered by Amina Ayriah of Class 3. She eloquently explained the meaning and importance of Eid-ul-Adha, highlighting its core values of compassion, charity, and gratitude. A lively dance performance by boys and girls showcased the main traditions of Eid—spending time with family, exchanging sweets, applying henna, and enjoying other joyful customs associated with the festival. The Headmaster of the Junior Section, Mr. Sajid Shamim, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of remembering the less fortunate and being grateful during the festive season. The host of the day, Ms. Nisha Raj, concluded the assembly by wishing everyone Eid Mubarak. As part of the celebration, students also engaged in various Eid-themed activities in their classrooms, which added to the festive spirit and enhanced the learning experience.

IIS STUDENTS’ COUNCIL INDUCTED

In a spectacular ceremony held recently at the school, the students’ councils of Boys’, Girls’ and Junior Sections for the year 2025-26 were administered the oath of their office by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb. Heads of Sections and Heads of Departments attended the ceremony. The new members were then presented with their badges and they took an oath to uphold the values of the school, be honest, responsible and committed to serving the student body. Members of the Student Councils are: Boys’ Section: Head Boy – Ihsan Mohamed Shameer, Asst. Head Boy- Leonel Mathew, Cultural Secretary- Mohammad Mustafa Shafeth, Asst. Cultural Secretary- Adidev Sajith, Sports Secretary – Yedhu Krishna, Asst. Sports Secretary – Muzafar P. M, Head Prefect Safin Parker, Head Scout – Chirag U. Suvarna and Asst. In his keynote address, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected council members. He emphasized the value of teamwork and encouraged them to lead by example, demonstrating honesty and integrity in all their endeavors. He also said that their collective efforts have the power to make a meaningful impact, both within the school and in the wider community. The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Khalid Soban. Ihsan Mohamed Shameer, the Head Boy, warmly welcomed the gathering, while the Head Girl, Venika Anil, delivered the vote of thanks. Garangao is a traditional festival celebrated in Gulf countries, particularly Qatar, on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival holds great significance, especially for children. Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Garangao in a traditional manner. Students from the Junior, Boys’, Girls’ Sections, and the Evening Shift dressed in colorful traditional attire and carried baskets and bags decorated with bright colors and patterns. Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, along with the headmaster, Mr. Sajid Shamim and Section Coordinator, Ms. Jeseena, distributed Garangao goodie bags filled with nuts to the children.In the Boys’ Section, Vice Principal Mr. Azam Khan attended the celebration, while in the Girls’ Section, Vice Principal Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh and Headmistress Ms. Khatija T.C. were also present. The Garangao celebration was a memorable occasion that allowed students to engage with Qatari culture while enjoying a day full of fun.
