Students from Ideal Indian School recently took part in the September edition of the Katara Space Science Programme, with 50 students from various classes. Previous editions have been highly successful, with students showing enthusiasm and gaining valuable hands-on experience, fostering both academic and practical growth in space science. The program has been instrumental in inspiring interest in space exploration and future careers. The September edition featured a stellar line-up of expert guest speakers: Prof. Dr. Essam Heggy: A NASA scientist renowned for his work on Mars exploration, offering insights into the latest space science developments. Mr. K Ramachandran: Retired PSLV Director at ISRO, who shared his expertise in satellite launch technologies and India’s space missions. Ms. Lalitha R: Retired ISRO scientist, specializing in cryogenic propulsion, a key technology for launching heavier payloads. Key topics for the month included: “What’s Happening on Mars?” led by Prof. Heggy, who explored recent discoveries and missions to Mars. “Journey of a Scientist” where Mr. Ramachandran and Ms. Lalitha shared their personal stories and career experiences to inspire the next generation. With its hands-on approach and expert interactions, the program continues to be a vital platform for nurturing students’ interest in space science.

IIS HOLDS ISLAMIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME

Ideal Indian School recently hosted the 8th Annual Interschool Uswa-E-Rasool Elocution and Recitation competition with profound reverence and solemnity. The competition featured two topics: “The mercy and compassion of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) ” for juniors and “Social justice principles established by Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH)” for seniors. In the senior category, Khalid Soban (XI-A) from Ideal Indian School claimed the first position in Qur’an Recitation and in the junior category Mohamed Shaban Naji Eid (VI-D) secured the second position in Qur’an Recitation, while Fatima Khairi (XI-G) in the senior category and Farah Naaz (VIII-J) in junior category earned the second position for Elocution. Remarkably, Among the 15 participating schools in this grand event, Ideal Indian School clinched the overall trophy in Qur’an Recitation, making it the crowning achievement of the event. Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb, Principal, IIS extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students, teachers, and participants from other schools. He expressed gratitude towards the event’s convener, Mr. Azam Khan (V.P. Boys Section), and specifically acknowledged the HOD of Arabic, Dr. Ehtesham, and his team for their exceptional success. He also thanked all the heads of sections and conveyed the appreciation of IIS President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M P for the dedicated efforts of students and teachers who contributed to this grand success. The Elocution competition had distinguished judges, including Mr. Waheeduzzaman Badiuzzaman (Al Jazeera Media institute, Qatar), Mr. Sheikh Alqama Rajpura (Imam and Khateeb in Awqaf, Qatar), and Mr. Sumama (research scholar in Hamad bin Khalifa University, Qatar). The Qur’an Recitation competition was evaluated by Shaikh Tahir Ibraheem Ali Al-Ahdal (Imam & Khateeb in Awqaf), Qari Abdul Aziz (Imam & Khateeb), and Qari Mohammad Merajul Haq Nadwi (Imam & Khateeb). In the closing ceremony, the Guest of Honor, Mr Waheedzzaman Badiuzzaman, conveyed the message of Islam to the audience and commended the students and the Arabic Department for their unwavering dedication and hard work.

GAVEL CLUB HOLDS COMPETITIONS

The purpose of Gavel Club’s activity in IIS is to inspire and support students to achieve excellence in speaking. The students receive training in a variety of areas, including table topics, humorous speaking, project speech, and evaluation, Students take a keen interest in attending GAVEL CLUB on specified dates, delivering speeches and Evaluating as well. This practice has enabled them to overcome stage fright and shyness and in turn boosted their confidence level and to speak spontaneously to any sort of audience. Ideal Gavel club competitions have been conducted on 17th September 2024. Around 30 students enrolled for table topics, humorous speech, prepared speech and Evaluation. The competition was judged by Mr. Anwar Sadath, Ms. Saba Ali and Chief Judge Mr. Sajid Shamim they assessed participants based on criteria such as speech content, delivery, body language and overall presentation. Participants were acknowledged for their outstanding efforts. Mr. Sajid Shamim announced the winners Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh Vice Principal Girls’ Section and Mr. Azam Khan Vice Principal Boys Section presented the prizes, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the principal, congratulated the winners. Recognizing the hard work and achievements of the gaveliers. All Participants gave their Best, while everyone was inspired by their passion and positive energy. The announcement of the winners in each category marked the end of the event. The results are as follows. In the International Speech contest, Sara Tarik Parkar from Class IX G secured 1st place, Shriya Patil from Class IX J won 2nd place and Aman Farhan from Class XI A achieved 3rd place. In the Evaluation Contest, Leyasri S from Class X H came 1st, Shriya Patil from Class IX J secured 2nd place and Safin Parkar from Class XI A finished 3rd. In the Table Topics contest, Stephin V Samson from Class X B claimed 1st place, Rishi Balan from Class XI B took 2nd place and Shriya Patil from Class IX J placed 3rd.

Home Science Students Explore Hospitality Industry at Hotel Traffen House

Home Science students from Class 12 of IIS recently visited Hotel Traffen House at Msherib, Doha, for an insightful exposure to the hospitality industry. The visit began with an informative session led by the hotel’s General Manager, followed by a guided tour. During the visit, students received firsthand insights into key departments such as the front office, housekeeping and food and beverage services. They were also given the unique opportunity to participate in the day-to-day operations of these departments, gaining a practical understanding of how they function. A highlight of the trip was an interactive cooking session in the hotel’s star-rated kitchen, where students experienced the thrill of culinary work. The visit was an enriching experience, offering students invaluable knowledge about the hospitality industry.

Ideal Indian School Team Excels at CBSE Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Championship

Ideal Indian School Team Excels at CBSE Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Championship: Ideal Indian School bagged the overall championship in both the boys’ and girls’ categories of the recently held CBSE Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Championship. Various CBSE schools in Qatar added color to the event, making it a grand success. The competitions were held in six categories and Ideal Indian School swept the championship in all of them. Ideal Indian School won a total of 25 gold medals in the boys’ category and 19 gold medals in the girls’ category. Sixty-four students from Ideal Indian School qualified to participate in the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship, to be held in India during the month of October. Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb congratulated the department on their remarkable success and appreciated their undying spirit and dedication in training and preparing the students for the tournament, as well as for the successful conduct of the championship. He also congratulated the winners on their victory. The head of the Boys’ Section, Mr. Azam Khan and the Head of the Girls’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, also praised the winners and motivated them to prepare and perform well in future tournaments. The team was trained and prepared by the school’s Martial Arts Trainer, Mr. Amazad Khan, along with Physical Education teachers, Ms. Suman Panwar and Ms. Ajanya.

IIS CELEBRATED WORLD OZONE DAY

Ideal Indian School marked World Ozone Day on 16th September 2024 with an inspiring celebration to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer. The 2024 World Ozone Day theme was “Montreal Protocol: Advancing Climate Action.” Various activities were organised in the Junior Girls’ and Boys’ Sections. A special morning assembly was conducted in the Junior Section, where students spoke about the need to preserve the ozone layer and the impact of ozone depletion on the environment. Class-wise activities including coloring, making collages, headbands, and placards were organised. The Eco Club of Ideal Indian School organised various activities to raise awareness among students about tackling global warming and climate change. A poster-making and slogan-writing competition was conducted for students of classes 5 to 9. Students created creative posters and impactful slogans, reflecting their commitment to promoting a sustainable environment. Students performed a thought-provoking skit highlighting the harmful effects of UV rays and methods to prevent ozone layer depletion. The students also presented an eco-themed song, adding a musical element to the awareness campaign. Many teachers worked tirelessly to ensure the success of World Ozone Day. Mr. Azam Khan, Vice Principal of the Boys’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, Vice Principal of the Girls’ Section and Headmistress Ms. Khatija T.C. graced the event and appreciated the students’ efforts towards environmental conservation. INSTALLATION OF NEW EXCOM OF IDEAL INDIAN SCHOOL GAVEL CLUB

The installation ceremony for the new Excom for Ideal Indian School Gavel Club was a landmark event, celebrating the beginning of a journey aimed at enhancing the public speaking and leadership skills of its members. The event was held on 02nd June at KG Auditorium, attended by a diverse group of participants including club members, guests, and dignitaries. The ceremony began with a warm welcome by Secretary of the club Master Dafydd Reagan, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their support and participation. The installation of new club officers was the highlight of the event. The new executive committee (Excom) members were introduced, and their roles were officially handed over. The speech focused on the importance of leadership and communication skills in personal and professional development. The oath was administered by MTM Priya Shembekar Area Director 17, who also shared inspiring anecdotes and practical advice on how to make the most of the Gavel Club experience. Ideal Indian School observed No Tobacco Day, aligning with global efforts to highlight the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle. Various programs were organized in all sections to create awareness among students about the dangers of tobacco and its impact on health. In the junior section, a morning assembly featured a skit to raise awareness and Nabiha from class 4 delivered a speech. Students learned about passive smoking and ways to avoid it. Both the Boys’ and Girls’ Sections participated in various activities to mark the day. These activities included a video screening, an awareness campaign, drawing and poster-making competition, all designed to educate students about the dangers of tobacco consumption.

IIS STUDENTS WIN BADMINTON TITLE

IIS students excelled in the recently held Bunts Qatar Badminton Tournament organized by the Bunts Qatar Group. Aman Sayeed of class X and Noman Sayeed of class VIII participated in the Under-16 category, won the tournament, and brought laurels to the school. In the Qatar Badminton Association Leg 2 tournament, Noman Sayeed of class VIII won the bronze medal in the Under-15 category organized by the Qatar Badminton Association. The Principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, congratulated the students on their achievement.
