IIS HONOURS SPOTLIGHT WINNERS

In a recently organized Prize Distribution Ceremony, Ideal Indian School honored the winners of Spotlight 2024, the cultural competition. More than 2,000 students from the KG, Junior, Boys and Girls Sections participated in this talent recognition event. Divided into five categories – KG, Kids, Sub-Junior, Junior, Intermediate and Senior – the competitions ranged from performing arts to painting, vocal and instrumental music, classical and folk dances, songs, poem recitation, rangoli, public speaking, storytelling and more. Hifz, Tajweed, and Adhan were exclusive to Muslim students. The Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, presented trophies to the winning houses and distributed medals and certificates to the winners. Heads of Sections and Departments also attended the function.

Poshan Abhiyaan Awareness Drive at IIS

Poshan Abhiyaan is a government initiative aimed at addressing the issue of malnutrition in India. The program focuses on improving nutritional outcomes for children, adolescents, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and the elderly. As a part of ‘Poshan Abhiyaan,’ the junior section students of Ideal Indian School took part in the awareness campaign. The headmaster, Mr. Sajid Shamim, read out the Poshan Pledge. The Section Coordinator, Ms. Jeseena Abdulla and all the students pledged to create an awareness of the importance of nutritious food. Poster making on the topic of the importance of a balanced diet or nutritious food was conducted for Class 4 students. The students were actively taking part in the activity.

KG SECTION CELEBRATED FLOWERS DAY

The Kindergarten students of IIS recently celebrated Flowers Day with great enthusiasm and creativity. The event aimed to introduce the children to the vibrant world of flowers. Dressed in imaginative, flower-themed costumes, the little ones brought to life the charm of sunflowers, lotuses, marigolds, roses, tulips and more. Their outfits, adorned with flower-inspired designs, accessories, and hats, added a delightful touch of color and beauty to the occasion. The activity was not only refreshing, as the bright flowers, but also helped the students distinguish between different flowers and their colors.

IIS HOLDS SCOUTS & GUIDES TRAINING PROGRAMME

Ideal Indian School organized a Training Program for newly recruited Scouts and Guides recently. The event coincided with the visit of esteemed delegates from the Qatar Scouts & Guides Association: Mr. Ahmed Khamis B Al-Yousef (Scout Activities Consultant), Ms. Muna Jumah Al-Mansouri (1st Scout Activities Expert), and Mrs. Paramjeet Bhullar (Scouts & Guides Coordinator for Expatriate Schools). The program commenced with a Guard of Honour presented to the dignitaries and the school Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, Vice Principal Girls Section Dr. Nazima Bi, Headmistress Girls Section Ms. Khatija TC and Asst. Headmistress Boys Section Ms. Lipsy Sabu. Asst. Head Scout Chirag Udaykumar hoisted the Qatar National Flag, accompanied by the rendition of the Qatar National Anthem. The formal function began with a prayer by Guide Farha Naaz, followed by a welcome address delivered by the Scout Ihsan Mohammed Shameer. Guide Nakshatra Vigneshwaran led the Scouts and Guides in reciting the ‘Scout Oath’. The event was hosted by Guide Venika Anil, who also provided an overview of the training program. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Asst. Head Guide Sahana Sherin. The training program featured five activity stations where participants learned essential life skills, including Types of Knots and Their Uses, Camp Essentials, Setting-Up a Camp, Campfire Techniques and Whistle & Signaling. A total of 64 newly recruited Scouts and Guides, along with senior members, participated in the training. The delegates appreciated the school’s efforts in organizing such an impactful program and provided positive feedback. During a follow-up meeting with school officials and Scout leaders, they discussed plans for upcoming Scouts & Guides events. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Vijayant Thapa (Scout Master), Ms. Suman Panwar (Guides Leader), and Mr. Suneer AP (Scouts in charge).

IIS EXCEL IN KUNGFU COMPETITON

Ideal Indian School students participated in the Umai Inter-Club Kungfu Competition, held from November 21 to 23 at Umai Kunfu Academy, Al Wukair-Qatar. The Umai Kungfu Academy hosted its annual Inter-Club Competition, bringing together participants from various martial arts academies to showcase their skills in a spirited and competitive environment. Our students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated exceptional talent, discipline, and determination throughout the event. The competition included traditional Kungfu routines, weapon demonstrations, sparring matches, and team performances. Each category was further divided by age group and skill level, ensuring fair and competitive matches. Our students excelled in multiple events, showcasing their dedication to training and their mastery of Kungfu techniques. Highlights of their achievements include: 1. IIS CELEBRATES 40th ANNUAL DAY

Ideal Indian School celebrated its 40th Annual Day with vibrant colors and festive cheer, showcasing magnificent cultural performances by students from the Kindergarten, Junior, Girls, and Boys Sections. The event was graced by the distinguished Chief Guest, the Ambassador of India to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Vipul, and the Guests of Honour: School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P.; Mr. Abdul Rahman, President of the Indian Sports Centre; Mr. Mohammad Taha, IBPC; Mr. Hamad Al Jaber from the Ministry of Culture; Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu, Vice President of ICC and Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, along with the Heads of Sections. President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P. and Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb presented the Annual Report, emphasizing the school’s commitment to achieving excellence in academics, sports, cultural events, discipline, leadership and management systems. On this special occasion, Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P., the President of Ideal Indian School, was recognized for his outstanding philanthropic contributions and unwavering dedication to the institution’s growth and success. H.E. Mr. Vipul, the Indian Ambassador, honoured him with a memento, a silver shawl and a citation highlighting his remarkable achievements and invaluable support to the school community. The Annual Day also celebrated the achievements of students who excelled in the CBSE examinations. Gold and silver medals were awarded to school rank holders and individual subject toppers of the Classes 10 and 12 examinations held in February-March 2024. Additionally, the school staff who completed 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of dedicated service were felicitated with excellence certificates, recognizing their commitment and contributions to the school. The day’s highlight was the grand cultural extravaganza, “Dare to Dream” inspired by Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. Featuring nearly 2,000 students from all sections, the event mesmerized the audience with impressive performances, including international, folk, western, fusion, and contemporary dances, songs, musical renditions, and multilingual dramas. Head Boy Gouri Shankar welcomed the gathering, while Head Girl Shreya Saravanan delivered the vote of thanks. The program was meticulously coordinated by Ms. Shirley De Sales, Headmistress of the KG Section; Ms. Khatija T.C., Headmistress of the Girls’ Section; Mr. Saajid Shamim, Headmaster of the Junior Section; and Mr. Anvar, Media Coordinator. The Inter-School Quiz Competition

The Inter-School Quiz Competition, hosted by the Malayali Samajam Qatar, took place at Podar Pearl School on 22nd November 2024. Among 13 Indian schools that participated, the team from Ideal Indian School, comprising Adidev Sajith and Venika Anil, secured the second runner-up position. IIS HOLDS 40th ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

The 40th Annual Sports Day of Ideal Indian School concluded recently with great fanfare with a n enthusiastic participation of a large number of students. The School President, Dr. Hassan Kunhi MP, was the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb and the Heads of all Sections, who were accorded a guard of honor by the school’s four Houses. The school choir performed the school anthem, creating a solemn and unifying atmosphere. A two-minute silence was observed during the ceremony to honor and pay tribute to the memory of Farhan Mohamedali, a student who recently passed away. Dr. Hassan Kunhi MP presented the Annual Sports Report, highlighting the school’s achievements in international tournaments, CBSE Qatar cluster championships, CBSE National meets and various local sports events. The Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, addressed the audience, commending the Department of Physical Education for its outstanding contributions to sports and games. The Chief Guest, Dr. Hassan Kunhi MP, lauded the school leadership and the department for their remarkable achievements and flawless organization of the event. Students were recognized for their exceptional performances in national and international sports meets, bringing laurels to the school. The Junior Section performed a captivating yoga display, showcasing rhythm, synchronization, flexibility, and balance. Mohammed Affan Azad of 12B, Sports Secretary of the Boys’ Section, welcomed the gathering, while Miss Lehen Shah of 12E, Sports Secretary of the Girls’ Section, proposed the vote of thanks. The Head Girl, along with the four House Captains of the Girls’ Section, lowered the school flag and reverently handed it over to the Chief Guest, Dr. Hassan Kunhi MP, who formally declared the meet closed. The program was coordinated by Mr. Azam Khan, Vice Principal of the Boys’ Section, and Mr. Nowfal V.M., Head of Physical Education.
