IIS STUDENT SHINES AT CHETNA 2024

To celebrate and highlight the importance of Hindi, the most widely spoken language in India, M.E.S. Doha, Qatar, organized “CHETNA 2024” on 12th September 2024. The event featured a range of competitions across various age groups. In the Mono Act competition, Samridhi Panwar, a Class 8 student from Ideal Indian School, secured first place, showcasing her talent and bringing pride to her school.

IIS CELEBRATED GARANGAO WITH TRADITION AND CULTURAL RICHNESS

Garangao is a traditional festival celebrated by the Gulf countries, particularly Qatar, on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival holds great significance, especially for children. The Junior Section of Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Garangao traditionally. The children dressed in colorful traditional attire and carried baskets and bags decorated with bright colors and patterns. The programme started with a prayer by Master Abdul Rahman of class 4C, and a special speech was delivered by Ms. Hamda Musthafa of class 4G. The programme was hosted by Ms. Tanu Madhvi. A group song was performed by the Junior Section choir. Headmaster Mr. Sajid Shamim and Ms. Jessena Abdulla, the Section Coordinator, joined the celebration and emphasised the value of the Garangao celebration. One of the mesmerising aspects of the event was that the students of the Junior Section made their way around the entire school in procession with Garangao music playing. The principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, the headmaster, Mr. Sajid Shamim, and other Heads of Sections distributed nuts and candies to the children. The festival of Garangao serves as a reminder of cultural richness and diversity and adds joy and vibrancy to the Ramadan celebration.

IIS Junior Section Bids Farewell to Grade 4 Students

Ideal Indian School’s Junior Section bid farewell to its Grade 4 students on March 3, 2024, at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium. This transition from class 4 to 5 and the move to the Boys and Girls section marks a significant milestone in the educational journey of these students, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and self-discovery. Ms. Sheela Ramesh and Ms. Jaseena welcomed the Grade 4 students to the venue. The event started with a prayer by Master Abdul Rahman. Ms. Tanu Madhvi and Ms. Jayasri Suresh hosted the program along with the Grade 3 students. Principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, graced the occasion with his presence and extended his wishes to the students. The heads of other sections and departments attended the program. Mr. Sajid Shamim, the Headmaster, addressed the students. Memorable gifts were presented to all the Grade 4 students as a symbolic representation of love. The students who scored the highest marks in academics and co-scholastics were awarded with the mementos. Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb gave away the prizes. IIS EXCELS AT SCHOOLS OLYMPICS PROGRAMME ATHLETICS FINALS

Ideal Indian School athletics team participated in the Schools Olympics Programme Athletics Finals which was held from February 25 to 27, 2024, at Al Arabi Stadium. IIS team students showcased remarkable athletic prowess, bringing home a total of six medals. The highlight of the event was Ihsan Ismail from Class 11 A, who not only clinched the gold medal in the 60m sprint but also demonstrated his versatility by securing a bronze medal in the 200m race. The collective strength of Ideal Indian School’s relay team shone through in the 4x100m relay event. The team, consisting of Ihsan Ismail of class 11 A, Mohammed Ihsan of class 11A, Ashish Rejy of class 11 C, and Ammar Obaid of Class 11 C, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and speed, earning the school a well-deserved bronze medal in the relay category. Ihsan Ismail’s achievements underscored his dedication and skill, contributing significantly to the school’s overall success. QATAR NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT DAY

IIS observed Qatar National Environment Day on February 26, 2024, with fervor and enthusiasm. The theme for this year’s Environment Day, ‘Our Earth, Our Legacy,’ resonated throughout the events organized to mark the occasion. In the Junior Section, the day commenced with a special morning assembly led by Ms. Aryalakshmi, aiming to educate students about the significance of environmental preservation. Shreya Rakesh delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of protecting the environment. Mr. Sajid Shamim, Headmaster, and Ms. Shyla Jose, Assistant Headmistress, joined the celebration and applauded the participants and teachers for their efforts and dedication. At the Girls’ Section, a special morning assembly for class V students was held to develop an interest in students towards the environment, building a sustainable future, and cooperating to develop the national environment. Samridhi Panwar delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the urgent need to address issues such as soil erosion and air pollution. Dr. Nazima Bi Sheikh, Vice Principal, and Ms. Khatija T.C, Headmistress, graced the event with their presence. The assemblies served to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment among students toward safeguarding the environment. IIS HOSTS GUIDES TRAINING CAMP TO FOSTER LEADERSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY

Ideal Indian School recently hosted a Guides Training Camp organised by the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association on the theme “Sustainability and World Thinking Day” to honor and celebrate the scouting movement initiated by Robert Baden Powell. Mr. Khalid Al-Hetmi , Scout Activities Consultant, Ms. Muna Jumah Al Mansouri, 1st Scout Activities Expert, Ms. Sara Al-Sultan, Scout Activities Consultant and Ms. Paramjeet Bhullar, Coordinator for Expatriate Schools were the Guests of Honor who graced the occasion. Principal of Ideal Indian School Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb, Vice-principal of the Girls’ Section, Dr. Nazima Bi Shaikh, Headmistress Girls’ section Ms. Khatija TC and Headmaster Junior Section Mr. Sajid Shamim also attended the program. The ceremony commenced with a prayer by Saja and Hanan and Riti Milan Doshi extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The Qatar Flag Hoisting Ceremony was led by Head Guide of Ideal Indian School Akshaya Jayakosh, Swathi Gireesh Kumar and Crystal Jerustha. A total of 140 Guides and 20 Leaders from 10 expatriate schools participated in the training camp. Various training sessions such as Camp Essentials, Self-Defense, First Aid, Gadget Making, and Team Building were organized to train the Guides of different schools. Another session for Fire Safety was coordinated under the supervision of Ms. Sara Qabil Badshah (Civil Defense Officer) to enlighten the Guides regarding various fire safety techniques. To celebrate the birth anniversary of Baden Powell, various programs were conducted including a speech by Shreya Saravanan of Class XI and a group song by the Guides of IIS. The Guides of Philippine School Doha enthusiastically performed a dance as a part of the celebration. For the ‘Yell and Cheer’ competition, the Guides of Ideal Indian School and Philippine School Doha shared 1st place, MES Indian School got 2nd place, and 3rd place was awarded to The Next Generation School. In ‘Patrol Flag Designing’, 1st Place was secured by Bangladesh MHM School, 2nd Place was bagged by Ideal Indian School, and 3rd Place was awarded to Noble International School. The principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb congratulated all the Winners. During his speech, he encouraged Guides to develop leadership and teamwork to promote the scouting movement and community services. Fathima Zia, the Asst. Head Guide proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event was compered by Safa Shaikh. Scout Master Mr. Vijayant Thapa and Guide’s Incharge Ms. Suman Panwar coordinated the event.

Students from classes 5 to 12 in the Girls’ and Boys’ Sections were awarded medals based on their behavior, discipline, punctuality, hygiene, and etiquette. The Junior Section at Ideal Indian School conducted a handwriting competition for the students of classes 1 and 2 and a speech competition for classes 3 and 4. The event was organized to nurture and showcase the communication and creative skills of our students, and both competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation. The Star of Ideal Award has been instituted to foster qualities such as cooperation, cleanliness, uniformity, punctuality, and attitude.
