IIS EMPOWERS TEACHERS THROUGH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Ideal Indian School, organised a five-day Orientation Programme for its teachers, from 24th to 28th August 2025, marking the start of the academic year with a renewed focus on professional growth, innovation, and well-being. The programme was meticulously designed to enhance teachers’ knowledge, equip them with modern pedagogical skills, and prepare them for the new session with confidence and enthusiasm. The refresher course commenced with an address by Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, who oriented the faculty for the Academic Year 2025–26. In a subsequent session, he elaborated on the updated school policies, underscoring the collective responsibility of teachers in upholding the highest standards while fostering discipline, inclusivity, and innovation in classroom practices. He emphasised the need to create an inclusive learning environment where every student—irrespective of background, learning style, or ability—feels valued and supported. He further highlighted the significance of life skills in education, noting that teachers are not merely transmitters of academic knowledge but also pivotal contributors to the holistic development of students. On the second day, Dr. Ambrin Siddiqui, a licensed physiotherapist, delivered an engaging session on “Empowered Educators: The Role of Physical and Mental Fitness in Effective Teaching.” She underlined the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle for teachers to ensure effective classroom delivery. Dr. Siddiqui highlighted how regular exercise, proper posture, and stress-relieving practices can significantly enhance stamina and concentration, enabling teachers to remain energetic and motivated throughout the academic year. She further emphasised that both physical well-being and mental resilience are indispensable for creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Later, Ms. Maninderjit Kaur presented an insightful session on “Effective Integration of AI Tools in Teaching and Learning.” She introduced teachers to a variety of AI-based applications and platforms that can simplify lesson planning, preparing worksheets, personalize learning experiences, and support differentiated instruction. She also encouraged teachers to embrace innovation with an open mindset, reminding them that digital literacy is an essential skill for both educators and learners in the 21st century. The third day featured an insightful session by Mr. Mohamed Mazher Yahya, a passionate and dynamic trainer, which was devoted to “Stress Management: Emotional Well-being for Teachers.” He conducted lively and interactive sessions, blending practical strategies with engaging activities. Through role-plays, group tasks, and light-hearted exercises, Mr. Mazhar created a fun-filled yet thought-provoking environment that encouraged teachers to openly reflect on their own stress levels and coping patterns. He guided them in identifying stress triggers, building emotional resilience, and maintaining a positive outlook, thereby promoting both professional excellence and personal balance. His activity-oriented approach not only kept the participants fully engaged but also ensured that they left the session with practical tools to incorporate into their daily routines. On the fourth day, the focus shifted to Departmental Meetings, where subject teachers collaborated to plan, share strategies, and align goals for the upcoming session. These meetings provided an essential platform for discussion and coordination, ensuring that teaching approaches are unified and purposeful. The programme concluded on Thursday, 28th August, with Section-wise Meetings led by the Section Heads. These meetings allowed teachers to review section-specific goals, address practical concerns, and prepare collectively for the smooth conduct of the academic year. The five-day refresher course at Ideal Indian School was a truly comprehensive and transformative experience, offering the faculty invaluable opportunities for growth and reflection. The diverse sessions on wellness, technology, school policies, and collaborative planning empowered teachers with fresh perspectives, innovative strategies, and renewed confidence to excel in their roles. As IIS strides forward with vibrancy and purpose, the insights gained from this programme are poised to translate into a more dynamic, future-ready, and nurturing learning environment for students. IIS CELEBRATES 79th INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INDIA

The 79th Independence Day of India was joyously celebrated at Ideal Indian School with immense enthusiasm reflecting the spirit of unity and love for the country. Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P., the School President, proudly unfurled the Indian national flag at 7:30 a.m., accompanied by the reverberating chant of ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ the national anthem by the School Choir. A gathering of Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, Heads of Sections, Heads of Departments, both teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents and well-wishers assembled at the school campus to witness the flag-hoisting ceremony. In his inspiring speech, School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P. emphasised the significance of remembering and honouring the courage and sacrifices of the freedom fighters, whose indomitable spirit won us independence. He highlighted that their selfless devotion and unyielding resolve serve as an enduring source of inspiration, reminding us to protect our freedom and work tirelessly towards the nation’s progress and unity. He urged everyone to move forward together by upholding unity, embracing diversity and striving for a stronger, progressive and harmonious India. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim stated that Independence Day is a time to express our heartfelt gratitude and to solemnly commemorate the sacrifices made by our great leaders and freedom fighters. He also urged everyone to give their very best in every endeavour, commit wholeheartedly to the service of the nation and rededicate themselves to upholding the ideals that will continue to make India proud. The programme started with a prayer by Mr. Imran, Teacher, Arabic Department. Riyana Abdul Rashid expressed her love for the nation by delivering a poem recitation. Junior Section bids farewell to Grade 4 students

The Junior Section of IIS recently organised a special farewell ceremony for the Grade 4 students. This event marked an important moment in their school journey as they prepare to move on to Class 5. Along with progressing to the next grade, they will also transition to the Boys and Girls section, which is a big step in their education. The farewell event, titled “CIAO,” was a lively and memorable occasion, filled with excitement and enthusiasm from the students. The event was graced by the presence of Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb as the chief guest. Heads of various sections and departments also attended the function. Ms. Sharon Metilda Soans and Ms. Aryalakshmi warmly welcomed the students to the event. The program commenced with a prayer by Umama from class 3 F. Ms. Sharon Metilda Soans and Ms. Aryalakshmi hosted the program along with the Grade 3 students. Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb conveyed his best wishes to the students. Mr. Sajid Shamim, Headmaster, addressed the gathering. Each Grade 4 student received memorable gifts as a token of affection. Additionally, students who excelled in academics, co-scholastics and sports were recognized with mementoes, which were presented by Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb.The academic excellence awards were presented to Miqdad Bin Muhammad (4B) for securing the first position, Prenia Adel Pinto (4F) for second place, and Uzair Nijas (4B) for third place. In the co-scholastic category, Diya Nair (4F) claimed the first position, followed by Abdur Rahman (4C) in second place and Deva Nandan Binukumar (4E) in third. Additionally, outstanding performances in sports were recognized, with Andriya Reetha Sojan (4F) and Eshan Muhammed Talish (4E) receiving special honors for their achievements. As part of the celebration, Grade 3 students and Junior Section teachers showcased a cultural program to entertain the Grade 4 students. IDEAL LITERATI HOLDS LITERARY COMPETITIONS

The Department of English of Ideal Indian School hosted the Ideal Literati – an Inter School Dramatic Monologue and Extempore Competition on 19th September 2024 in the KG Auditorium. The competition was inaugurated by the School Principal, Mr. Sheik Shamim Saheb. The event attracted a multitude of literary enthusiasts from various Indian schools in Qatar. The extempore competition was a captivating display of spontaneous speaking abilities and sharp thinking. The unpredictable aspect of extempore speaking posed difficulties, requiring participants to think quickly and deliver coherent, well-organized responses within a limited time. Aditya Jain from DPS Modern Indian School secured the first position, Avika Gaur from DPS Monarch International School secured the second position and Afrin Salma of Ideal Indian School secured the third position. The Inter School Dramatic Monologue competition effectively fostered literary knowledge and strengthened bonds among students. More than just the excitement of winning, the event highlighted a shared enthusiasm for literature, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved. Mohamed Areeb of Ideal Indian School secured the first position, Evelyn Johnly from MES Indian School secured the second position and Nezli Abdul Lathief from Shantiniketan Indian School secured third position. Both competitions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including Member of Toast Masters Ms. Najla Azad, Toast Master Ms. Neha Yusuf, and Toast Master, Ms. Nirmala Raghuraman. Following the competition, a valedictory function was held where the Principal of Ideal Indian School Mr. Sheik Shamim Saheb, awarded trophies & certificates to the winners. The Principal of Ideal Indian School, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb congratulated the students, teachers and participants from the schools in Doha. He underscored the importance of literature in students’ lives, portraying it as a lifelong companion. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Anwar Sadath, AHM-Academics and Head of English, Ms. Ryhanath PI, the Event Coordinator and their team for their outstanding success. The Principal also thanked all section heads for their supportive role in executing the innovative Ideal Literati program. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. Poornima Ramesh and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Shebin Basheer. Master Rishi Balan, Master Suhail Sadik and Miss Aysha Ziya were the comperes of the competition.

STUDENTS VISITED CONTEQ EXPO 2024

Engineering Graphics students from 11th and 12th grade at Ideal Indian School visited the ConteQ Expo 2024 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), recently where they gained real-world exposure to advancements in construction and engineering technologies. ConteQ Expo is known for presenting innovative technologies transforming the construction and services sectors, with this year’s event featuring over 250 exhibitors, including global giants like Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Siemens, and IBM. During the visit, students explored futuristic technologies shaping the future of engineering. One of the highlights was the Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, where students could walk through 3D-printed buildings and view immersive digital models of upcoming construction projects. The interactive displays allowed students to see how virtual design tools are used in modern construction. They also explored Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, with several booths showcasing AI platforms capable of answering real-time questions about construction materials, sustainability, and digital infrastructure.

Ideal Indian School students excelled in the CBSE Cluster Yoga competition held at Scholars International School recently. The Under 14 team emerged as champions, with Anushka Anil (9K) crowned the individual champion. Other team members included Sreenitha V. Praseeth (8L), Rebekah Cherian (8L) and Catherine Mejo (6I). IIS TEAM WINS BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ideal Indian School Boys’ Badminton teams recently participated in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Badminton Tournament held at DPS Monarch International School and exhibited exceptional performance that brought pride to our institution. The Under-14 team secured a Silver medal, while the Under-17 team clinched a Bronze medal. The school’s talented athletes representing the Under-14 Boys’ Category included Muhammad Noman Sayeed (8B), Mohammad Yahiya Yakkoob (8C), and Adon Cheriyan Liju (4D). In the Under-17 Boys’ Category, Muhammad Aman Sayeed (10A), Tomy Fernando James (10E), and Fauzan Ahmed (11A) demonstrated remarkable skill and teamwork. Mr. Satender Singh Panwar was assigned the role of being in charge of the boys’ badminton teams, with Mr. Fayaz Ahamed serving as Team Manager. Grandparents are the treasured pillars of wisdom, tradition and love within a family. Their care and guidance strengthen the foundation of family bonds. To honor their invaluable role, Ideal Indian School recently celebrated Grandparents Day. Ms. Shirley De Sales, Headmistress of the KG Section, warmly welcomed the parents and highlighted the profound impact grandparents have on shaping lives. The kindergarten students delighted the audience with a captivating song, setting the tone for a memorable event. The teachers of the KG section also presented a song on the occasion. Grandparents actively participated in various fun-filled activities such as singing and games like Clash of Glass, Crazy Eights, and Woody Game and the winners received prizes. Each grandparent was gifted a handmade greeting card created by the students, a heartfelt token of love and appreciation. The grandparents expressed their gratitude to Ideal Indian School for nurturing the bond between generations through such meaningful events. Students of the KG section engaged in making greeting cards by hand-printing on worksheets for their grandparents, making the day even more special.
