As part of a Heritage Club activity, Ideal Indian School recently organised a visit to Zubarah Fort with 81 students from both the Boys’ and Girls’ sections. This educational visit aimed to provide students with an immersive learning experience about Qatar’s rich cultural and historical heritage. During the visit, the students had the unique opportunity to explore the excavation site at Zubarah. Official guides accompanied the team and offered detailed explanations about various aspects of the site, including the palace, watchtower, southern masjid ruins, market, date processing areas, house constructions, trash booms and water storage facilities.
The interactive session helped students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of excavation in preserving historical structures and cultural practices. The students displayed great enthusiasm and curiosity, engaging actively with the guides to learn about the fort’s significance and its role in showcasing Qatar’s rich culture and heritage. The visit to the Zubarah archaeological site also encouraged students to appreciate the efforts involved in maintaining and studying historical sites.
