Ideal Indian School conducted a three day online refresher programme for all the teaching faculty recently. On the first day, a webinar on new National Education Policy introduced by Government of India was conducted.   Dr. Atul Nischal, the founder, Director of International Council for School Leadership, Executive Vice President of S. Chand group and Editor- in- Chief of the Progressive Teacher was the keynote speaker. He said that The New Education Policy 2020 will bring in numerous changes in India’s education strategy. “The National Educational Policy focuses on focuses on reflecting the culture and diversity of the country. It emphasizes on critical thinking and analytical skills of the students. It is aimed to mold every individual into a good human being and emphasizes more on the development of the problem solving skills” he added. Dr. Atul Nischal, concluded his speech by answering various questions put out by the audience.

The Principal Mr. Syed Shoukath Ali had a special session on the topic ‘Innovations in Teaching and Learning’. With the present scenario in mind, the principal asked the teachers to use technology to the fullest and make their classes more vibrant and interesting by leaving behind the traditional methods of teaching and impart education in an efficient manner.

The programme commenced with a prayer by Dr. Ethisham, followed by a brief introduction of the speaker given by Mrs. Thanu Thapa, who compered the whole session. The Principal Mr. Syed Shoukath Ali welcomed the speaker of the day and Mrs. Lipsy Sabu proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of teachers from other Indian Schools also attended the session.

On the secondary, Mr. Sajith. K, Head of Computer Science department presented a topic on “Online tools for Teaching and Learning.” He shared his ideas on the implementation of ‘Google Classrooms and guided the faculty on the ‘G-Suite’ app and other important helpful applications from Google. Moving on with the same topic, Mr. Santosh further added points about ‘Augmented Reality’. He stated that with augmented reality, teaching and learning would be more interesting and fun-to-learn in the classroom. Mr. Karthik, Mr. Charles and Mr. Sadaf form Department of Physical Education, Music and Art respectively had a presentation on Art Integrated Learning. Mrs. Khatija TC, Assistant Headmistress, Girls’ Section coordinated the Teachers’ Refresher Programme.

Third day witnessed Departmental meeting and Demo class by the teachers from various sections. The entire session was observed to be very Interactive, Informative and was carried out successfully through a Virtual-ZOOM meet.
