Ideal Indian School observed Earth Day with a wide range of meaningful activities. The theme for Earth Day 2026, “Our Power, Our Planet,” highlighted the vital role of collective action and renewable energy in combating climate change and safeguarding the planet for future generations. The Junior, Girls’, and Boys’ Sections of both the Morning and Evening Sessions actively participated in a series of programmes aimed at creating awareness about the urgent need to conserve fossil fuels and adopt alternative energy resources such as solar, wind, and bioenergy. These initiatives encouraged students to embrace sustainable practices for a greener future.
As part of the celebrations, all sections of the school organised a variety of special events to engage students and promote environmental responsibility. The programme commenced with inspiring speeches by students, who stressed the importance of protecting the Earth and preserving its natural resources for generations to come. Activities included tree-planting drives on the school campus to promote greenery, an inter-house bulletin board competition, and exhibitions of eco-friendly models and creative posters based on environmental themes. Younger students enthusiastically participated in nature-themed colouring activities, while others designed Earth Day badges and crowns carrying meaningful and thought-provoking slogans that reflected their commitment to a cleaner and greener world.
In his keynote address, Acting Principal Mr. Mohammad Azam Khan emphasised the urgent need to conserve energy resources through responsible and efficient usage. He also highlighted the importance of adopting alternative sources of energy such as solar, wind, and bioenergy, stressing that a shift towards renewable energy is essential for protecting the environment and ensuring a sustainable future for coming generations.
